    Only one side of the driveway culvert walls was damaged by a careless driver. When he came to estimate the job, I specifically asked Gavin to be sure to match the mortar to the undamaged wall so that there would be no color difference. The day he came to do the repair job I again asked him about the mortar matching and simply responded that he was using 'X mortar' (I don't remember the name). Just as he was close to finishing up the job I was called away to the hospital on a family emergency but looked at the work before I left and told Gavin I was afraid the mortar wouldn't match but he said it would darken over time so I thought it would be OK. However, when I returned home a few days later I found that several of the cobblestone blocks had not been reset (they were laying loose next to the wall) and the dried mortar now looked almost white....nothing like the sandy color of the undamaged wall. I had paid him in full for the job before I had to quickly leave and between time I spent at Johns Hopkins and less than 24 hours/wk at home for a period of months, I tried to contact the company but to no avail. It has been two years and I'm still waiting for the mortar to darken....this experience was an extreme disappointment.

    This home owner has never contacted us since the job was completed. This is the first time we have heard of any issues. (None of our contact info has changed since we started our company.) We offered in the proposed quote to repair both walls so that they would match exactly. The home owner chose to only have the damaged wall repaired. The home owner was present when we left the job and thanked us for our work. No cobblestone were left out of the reconstruction. Additional cobblestone were found in the dirt next to the wall and we left them for the homeowner.     Gavin was very responsive & communicated well with me & was a pleasure to deal with. I did have to call him back b/c one of his workmen left a mortar smear on the outside ends of two bricks on the outside of my stoop. But Gavin responded promptly in correcting it. My general experience in dealing with Gavin was very positive.

    Gavin is one of the most professional tradesmen we have ever hired. We were absolutely thrilled with his work and craftsmanship. He was on time, on budget, and always in communication. He took great care in building our stone wall and it is an absolute work of art. We've worked with a few businesses on our woodstove project, and Gavin outshined them all. He's a true professional. As well as producing quality work, Gavin and his team went out of their way to make the process as painless as possible. I wouldn't consider anyone else for future work.

    Gavin did a very professional job repointing my brick patio and steps. I wish the color of the mortar was a bit darker but Gavin says it should darken in the next few months to more closely match the old mortar. I would use him again.

    The homeowner hired us for masonry repairs. The repairs were completed and customer was invoiced for the exact amount on the original proposal. Maybe HomeAdvisor should better define what it means by "Value for Money".

    If you need concrete,Brick or stone work done call Cornerstone4. they are a TOP QUALITY company. very professional work done and a total clean up of their work area. They were courteous, polite and quite. I saw their work to be rating of 10.
