I hired him to build a storage shed in the back of my house. He took 8000 for material and never came back. Excuse after excuse. Will not answer his phone. His wife texted me and said he w1ould call but never did. This has been going on for a couple of months? I recently got an estimate from this guy. He was asking me to sign a blank contract and for a huge down payment. I'm so thankful I looked him up and read the reviews. I really dodged a bullet.

Other reviews are spot on. He was hired to complete a bathroom remodel after my son had used him for the same. "Coincidentally" after working on demo for ~ 1 1/2 hours, my water heater sprung a leak. It's located above my dining room, so water came out of the ceiling and down the walls in parts of my den and kitchen as well. He claimed the insulation was already "soaked" and the prior installation lacked a gasket on one end of the supply line. How easy is it to remove a gasket and show me ? Very easy. He started removing sheetrock and insulation and demolishing ceilings and walls to remediate. (I know that had to be done but drying fans he promised to bring in didn't show up for 2 days). He said he treated for mold, but I am not sure he did. I called my insurance co. immediately and the adjuster came out the next day. Adjuster told me I would get the estimate in 3 days. Carlos dogged me DAILY , sometimes MULTIPLE times a day, to see a copy of it. Suspicious, to say the least. He told me he wanted to do the bathroom remodel himself so that "it would be done right." The only thing he did in that bathroom was remove the toilet - which he broke. Very long story somewhat shorter, despite numerous requests to see receipts and warnings about his tardiness on the job site, I have only seen ONE receipt for ~600 dollars. He got away with over $30,000 of my money before I fired him and the only thing to show for it is a torn up bathroom, dining room and kitchen. His workers would just start tearing things out and I couldn't stop them because what they started tearing out they immediately ruined. I am 92 years old and he thought he could get away with this. I am filing a lawsuit today. He was not honest with me and has a million excuses.

Horrible experience from day 1. Like the 2 other comments, everything that came out of his mouth was a lie. Luckily I started seeing one red flag after another. When I began calling him out and confronting him on his various lies, his phone suddenly quit working. Goes straight to voicemail now. He sent two guys to my house to begin tearing down the 3 support columns on my back patio. Thankfully it got late and quit or my house would have probably fallen down. I had to hire some guys to clean up the disastrous mess they made. Fortunately it only cost me a few hundred dollars. Could have been much worse. He only got me for $5200. vs the $80k he was wanting. He is from Hempstead and working out there under a JB construction. FYI BEWARE!

If I could give negative stars I would. He is a compulsive liar; was never at the Jobsite; cannot meet deadlines; buys used/refurbished or surplus supplies (if he even buys any - we had to buy our own on several accounts because the subs were out of material); takes money and DOES NOT finish and DOES NOT pay his subs, when he has been paid 100% for the work; zero work ethic or morals; damaged our real and personal property; we are missing personal property; did not finish the job after 14 months, when promised it would take 3-6 months; did not show up for several months and had amusing excuses (that we knew were false); the Jobsite was a junkyard; we have had to hire professionals to fix his inadequate plumbing, electricity, painting, rock work, metal roof, venting, flooring, and the list goes on. Did I mention he is a compulsive liar? It got so bad he was escorted off the property. He has zero pride in his work or disregard for anyone for that matter. I have also recently found out that he is doing the same to other homeowners. I hope that this review discourages others from using this con artist.

Cannot comment much on his work quality. if he made any progress over the last 5 months I would comment. I am actually in the process of gathering my records in order to sue him. Total failure from him. He does not respond to call / texts. Everything that comes from his mouth turned out to be a lie. This guy is not worth the effort. Do no hire.
