Beware of giving cash deposits

"We had a 4 days contract with Lenny Verkhoglaz for 5,800.00 dollars, he was adamant about a lesser deposit of a 1,000.00 dollars. After the 1st day he cancelled the contract at the end of the day and requested 750.00 dollars of his deposit in return. After we spent for the materials and labor to the job. Mr. Verkhoglaz choose to cancel the contract unilaterally. Whether the deposit was check, credit card or rubles he is still bound by the contract. We lost the materials for his assignment and the days work that we were contracted for. In retrospect Lenny had no intentions of keeping his part of the contract."

The job was to repair a kitchen sink that had come unglued from a granite counter top. They fixed it, But it did not last. Business owner said **there are no guarantees in this business** Hired a different pro the second time, who laughed when I told him that. New pro told me that stone makeover apparently used epoxy instead of silicon, and did not appear to have cleaned the surfaces of the old adhesive. Also, stone makeover did not install any bracing on the underside of the sink. Stone makeover charged $350, the second pro charged $475. Better to pay more and only pay once, than to pay less and pay twice.

I hired Stone Makeover based on their Home Advisor rating and comments. The job entailed the repair of several small chips in a granite countertop and the polishing of another small areal Schubert and his crew were prompt, courteous and responsive to my needs. Subsequent to completion of the job, however, I noticed several areas were not finished to my satisfaction. One text to Schubert was all it took to have the crew return at my convenience to complete the job to my great satisfaction.

Schubert was outstanding! He responded immediately, his estimate was provided immediately and the work was scheduled at our convenience, the workers arrived on time, they protected the cabinets and appliances, they were clean, neat and did an outstanding job cleaning and restoring our tumbled marble floor. Their price was fair and I highly recommend Stone Makeover and Schubert.

I had a foyer cleaned and polished. It was done 3 years ago by someone else and it was a costly nightmare...that being said Stone Makeover did a FABULOUS JOB SECOND TO NONE. They responded immediately and was able to schedule me quickly. Shubert was very knowledgeable and descriptive of what they would be doing to repair my cracked granite countertop. They repaired my granite better than I expected and did a beautiful job.
