"Customer called about a dishwasher leak. Found that heating element burned a hole in the housing and strongly recommended a new dishwasher based upon the damages and risk of fire. I don't like to encourage appliance replacements unless the cost for repair is uneconomical or safety is compromised due to extensive, unrepairable damage. In this case the customer only gets charged the service fee. Sorry for the unfortunate news. Hopefully you can find a satisfactory replacement."

"Many parts for repair are brand specific. While I do stock some common parts and spare recycled parts to get people by in a pinch, it is nearly impossible to carry everything. In an effort to keep prices reasonable, we cannot carry proprietary parts in stock. It ties up resources and does not make good business sense. This part would have had to been ordered by all of my competitors and a return visit scheduled regardless. Had the customer expressed concerns about down time, I could have placed more calls for availability or put a rush on the parts. The added cost to rush parts sometimes causes people to wait, but it was a conversation worth having if there was too much of an inconvenience."
