I found Creative Equity Builders through Angi. Initially, I was looking to remodel my kitchen. Shawn came by to look at everything and gave me a price and a plan for the kitchen. Unfortunately, there were a couple other home projects that were a higher priority than the kitchen, and I didn’t have the funds for everything. So when I told Shawn the kitchen would have to be put on hold because of the other projects, he told me he knew and worked with people who performed the jobs I needed completed. I needed retaining walls installed, stairs removed, and my chimney repaired. Shawn was always in contact with me and set everything up with the people he worked with. They came out within about a month of our initial meeting, and had all of the work completed within about a week and a half. Any questions or concerns I had regarding the work were answered by Shawn in a very timely manner. He goes above and beyond when it comes to finding you the best deals for the work and materials. He also provides you with a good amount of options when it comes to materials, and is very up front about what it will cost. I’m very pleased with the outcome of the projects. Everyone that has seen the results has raved about them. I’m very glad I chose to do business with Creative Equity Builders. I will definitely be doing business with them in the future, and I highly recommend them.

We engaged Shawn to help us with a kitchen renovation along with a possible second story expansion. During our first meeting, Shawn asked us what our goals were for the project. After discussing our needs for the project, Shawn proposed several designs and sat down to discuss the pros and cons of each design. There were several things we appreciated about Shawn's approach to the project. First, Shawn designed the extension and layout for the renovation to meet our needs, rather than trying to fit into a standard format. He even tied the project seamlessly into a preexisting extension to give the house a cohesive design. Shawn was a one-stop shop for our project, in that he not only designed the renovation, he also created the architectural build designs. Second, Shawn is particularly focused on maximizing equity. While his ultimate goal was to design and build a space that we would love, he also helped us to find where we can best maximize the value of the money we were putting into the project to enhance the value of our home. Throughout the project, Shawn kept us informed every step of the way, identifying issues as they arrived and discussing potential solutions as soon as possible. Having purchased an older home, our project presented a lot of challenges which Shawn and his team helped us to navigate. We also appreciated Shawn's attention to detail. Shawn constantly sought our feedback on every decision, went with us to look at the finishes, and provided helpful suggestions on things, some of which we never would have thought to do but ended up loving. In the end, Shawn turned our small 40's kitchen and guest bedroom, into a beautiful spacious kitchen and master suite, giving our home the space and functionality it desperately needed. We cannot thank Shawn and his team enough for the incredible work they did on our home.

We hired Shawn and his team to remodel our outdated kitchen. New cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and appliances. Shawn was knowledgeable about what materials were within our budget and helped us select the color scheme, etc. Shawn was very passionate about making sure the work was completed to our satisfaction. He even drove out to our house just to answer questions I had about the new backsplash. In the not too distance future, we plan on hiring his team to install new flooring.

This was a $112,000 job in two phases. Shawn has a gift for designing as well as construction. He took my new purchase fixer-upper and made it into our dream home. He kept in touch and more importantly he took every call, or called back in a timely fashion. We spent five months on the project, the guys were here every day. The project included enlarging the main bath, opening the kitchen/dining room, rebuilding the screened in porch, adding a 14 foot addition to the master bedroom, a new roof and new siding. Shawn is a designer, NOT your average or expected contractor. :) He offered design options that could work for me after studying how I used the space and listening to what i wanted to add and change. We were in contact throughout the project and my questions were answers promptly and professionally.

I had the pleasure of getting my power bathroom remodeled. My floor felt as thou is was going to cave in. I met with Sean, he offered his suggestions and expertise when it comes to bathrooms. I really learned a lot and the professionalism is superior. Sean’s team finished my bathroom in 2 days and communicated with me every step of the way. I was so pleased with their work that I immediately referred his company to 5 of my coworkers. John came on time and was very professional at all times. He listened to my concerns, my fears of contractors messing up my house and assured me that he would make sure everything was perfect by the time he was finished. When the job was completed. Creative Equity Builders recently remodeled our master bath and a second full bathroom in our home. We could not be more pleased with the outcome! We immediately liked Shawn and sensed that he not only loves what he does but that he would be honest and trustworthy. He spent a lot of time with us discussing what we wanted, in great detail. One of the best things about working with Shawn was his designing skills. My husband and I had a general sense of the “look” we were going for but were clueless beyond that as far as specifics. There are so many options and possibilities out there that it is just overwhelming. Shawn helped us to identify what we would like, with the added caveat that we wanted a final product that would likely appeal to a younger family who will probably be buying our home in 4-5 years when we plan to move. We also had a relatively modest budget, adding another layer of complexity. Shawn narrowed down our choices and helped us to “put it all together,” something we would never have been able to do on our own. Shawn and his crew completed both bathrooms in a timely manner and were very respectful of our home in terms of protecting the floors, blocking out the dust, etc. Shawn shopped around and purchased high-quality products. They did excellent work with great attention to detail. We are thrilled with the finished product! Our favorite element is a gorgeous custom shower in our master bath, although both bathrooms are beautiful, with a much-needed, updated look. Shawn’s eye for design combined with high-quality work and respect for our budget made for a very successful remodel. We would use Creative Equity Builders for any future remodeling work, no question!

Good craftsmanship, subpar communication. The workers that came in were friendly and did good work. However, the communication was poor. Specifically, the workers came two hours late one day and an hour late another day. I understand that these things happen and they come from other jobs, but there was no communication from Shawn until I had to call him to see what was going on. Maybe I'm just being picky, but I would think that a paying customer should be able to expect punctuality and communication.

I think Shawn and his crew did a wonderful job installing a backsplash in my kitchen. I am very pleased with the work they have done and would work with them again.

Shawn offered a good price. I get tons of compliments on their work. They cleaned after the work and I am going to hire them again for the bathroom.

Very good work, not sure why other reviewers were saying the customer service was subpar, Shawn communicated very well and timely with us. Some slight improvements could be made to attention to detail (its partly me since I have OCD with this stuff), but at the end they made everything look great.

The customer service was very poor. The lack of communication and the constant excuses was very frustrating. I wanted solutions and all I got were excuses. They scheduled a two week job at it ended up being 23 days. The attention to detail was not there. Although in the end the job was completed and my floor looks good, it took much too long and a tremendous amount of headaches to get to that point.

I think that Shawn was wonderful! His employees were very nice and considerate while in my home. I will definitely be using them again!

Customer focus and a genuine desire to understand the perception and ideas balanced perfectly without any pressure to commit a final plan. There are options that will be discussed and the best value is for the customer.

Sean and his crew do excellent work and are very courteous. They completely remodeled our basement to include a sitting area and complete kitchen. Due to the age of the house (100+ years), there were many challenges they had to overcome, which they did exceptionally well. My husband and I have used quite a few contractors over the years and have found that Creative Builders did great work and were very neat and cleaned up before they left each day. We highly recommend them and even hired them for our next job before they completed our first project.
