Write a ReviewVinyl Siding Replacement project including full wood siding removal down to the existing sheathing with new air/vapor house wrap, vinyl siding in two colors/styles, prefinished metal window trim wrap to make my home maintenance-free. Great attention to detail, open to small requests/changes along the way and good pricing. Small crew made the project manageable on a small city lot size. Definitely recommend this team for your home remodel projects.
Straight forward and knowledgeable salesman an installers. Delivered and installed on time. The doors look good
Exterior doors are lovely and good quality. Glad to be able to choose from a good selection. Installation was quick once the door came in.
Great experience start to finish! Took a little while for the door to come in but once it was ready and available everything was set up and went off without a hitch, would highly recommend!
We would highly recommend this company Mike was excellent He was so great to work with Very neat and professional Jim and Darlene Bontrager
Mike and John did a fantastic job on our kitchen cabinet refacing. We priced several options - this was clearly the best value! We could keep our counter-tops and back splash but looks like a whole new kitchen! All new hardware with lots of extra features and storage. They even custom-made a few pieces and gave great advice on how we could improve flow and use. The only reason we would give less than 5 stars was due to longer timelines than expected and one set of doors that were the wrong size and had to be redone from the manufacturer, which takes even longer. Having said that, in the midst of Covid, they still performed great and the supply chain is a challenge for everyone. Their team was responsive and professional and we'd highly recommend them, just need a little extra patience with the process under Covid.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND CROIXSIDE HOME IMPROVEMENTS. I apologize in advance for this long review, but I want potential customers to be aware of just what theyre getting into. We are now on an eight-month process that has been a non-stop nightmare. When Bob and Mike first came to our home, they were polite, ready and willing to do whatever they could to get our near $18,000 contracting job to replace the windows in our new home. They promised their windows were reliable even stomped on it to show that the windows themselves to show that they were quality windows. However, once the contract had been signed and money changed hands, the nightmare began. What was a 9-11 week start to finish job turned into a near 7-month ordeal. For months, Mike (the owner) told us that the windows were being delayed as a result of COVID shutting plants down. For weeks we would reach out to Mike and Bob for updates and answers as nearly $18,000 was a lot of money for our family. Bob rarely returned our calls, emails, and texts. Mike was the same. It was always the same answer Im on vacation or Im busy. We finally had enough and called Alside, the company who made our windows. The windows that were supposed to be ordered in November 2020, but we learned Mike had not been ordered until January 11, 2021, the week our windows were supposed to be installed. We have no idea what Mike did with our money in that time frame. MN Law says he was supposed to put in a special account, but we have no knowledge of that. We immediately began asking Mike for a copy of an invoice, anything to show us that he ordered the windows, but he wouldnt do so. We went back and forth with him for weeks, reminding him the contract had lapsed and by his own standards, we were owed our money back, but he also refused that too. When we decided to call the company back to ensure the windows they showed us, the windows Bob (the sales manager) had told us he would order, were the ones in production, we were saddened to learn that Mike and Bob didnt order those windows, but a cheaper version. The windows finally arrived in March, but we noticed a few things around that as well. The sub-contractor he hired was a great guy someone wed recommend in a heartbeat. The energy star stickers on each window showed that they werent energy efficient for Minnesota despite that being a promise early on. Mike and Bob attempted to play it off as they had promised us generally accepted energy star windows, not ones certified for our state. Then we noticed the vinyl on the windows had been warped, which did not allow for the mesh screen to sit properly on the window leaving gaps for bugs to get through. We attempted to get this fixed before the final down payment was made, but Mike kept saying it was a warranty issue. I told him it wasnt since the windows hadnt been in a week, but he threatened to put a lien on our home within two weeks of installation if we didnt pay him right then and there. This violates MN Law where hes supposed to notify us that he plans to put a lien on our home if he hasnt received payment from a written bill within the allotted 15, 30, or 45 day window stated on the bill. Then he has to wait an additional 45 days after that before he can do it. But Mikes deceptive and aggressive behavior in the past, along with his tone with that threat forced us to cave. We handed over the money and he promised to have the sub-contractor come our and fix the windows by April 15. We then learned the sub-contractor no longer worked for Croixside and as such, did not want to come out and fix the issue and had repeatedly been told by Mike and Bob that THEY would handle our fix. Now, were noticing a clear, silicone-like substance leak from the windows. They have yet to come out and fix it.
Sadia received good high quality energy efficient windows installed by a highly trained seasoned professional installer who is very meticulous in his work. She did have a sliver of light on the bottom of one of her screens but it was so small my technician could barely see it! We did not order a cheaper version of windows for her. The sticker on the window was misleading as it did not take in to account that we added Low E coating to the glass and argon gas in between the glass panes along with a soft seal to keep the glass edge warmer. I explained all of this to her but she refuses to believe me. The professionals at Alside also explained this but she refuses to listen to them too. I really don't know what else to do to help her understand that she has a very high quality window and an awesome installation
Mike and team did a phenomenal job refacing our kitchen. Smooth process from start to finish, and most importantly, it looks fantastic! They went above and beyond and some of our unique requests, and that just shows their ability to deliver. Great experience overall. Would/will hire again.
Mark was fabulous. We live in a very old & uneven house. There were a couple issues that arose during the installation that caused the job to run into two days. Mark set the door so that we were secure overnight returning the next day to complete the installation. We were not expecting the install to look as nice as it does (again: very old & uneven home). We are very happy & excited to have a functioning door. Thank you Croixside & your employee Mark. Project was started 5-4-21 and completed 5-5-21.
We are highly dissatisfied with Croixside Home Improvements. We DO NOT recommend using them for your kitchen. After the initial estimate with Mike, it has been disappointment after disappointment: - Delays in product orders. - Unreliable timeline (estimated 8-10 weeks resulted in total of 7 months.) - Subpar subcontractors essentially causing our kitchen to be redone twice. - Lack of communication/unprofessional with delayed responses to our concerns throughout the entire process. - Incorrect initial measurements causing reorders. - Reorder color was wrong and owner Mike being dishonest about this. - Did not honor his listed veterans discount. - Purposely vague contract which covered their flaws (we spoke with a lawyer multiple times about our issues that we unfortunately could do nothing about). It took 7 months from contract signing until completion. Seven months! Well the kitchen looks done, the process has been nothing but disheartening. Overall, AVOID THIS COMPANY.
There are some people you can't please no matter what you do. Yes during covid things took much longer then they normally do. Yes they got a bad install from the initial installers (I have since let them go) Me and one of my best technicians re-refaced their entire kitchen and resolved the issues from the original crew and their kitchen looks awesome! Check out the before and after pictures of their kitchen on our website. It is the white base kitchen with gray uppers and 2 glass doors in the middle and a new pantry we built for them on the left end. Im sure you will agree we took good care of our customer!
