Custom Cabinets Building Service
Builder got the measurements so wrong for the cabinets. They were not tall enough to store what I had them built for. Wall was damaged as the builder tried to fix; by shoving the top shelf up the wall and shimming up the cabinet top to make room instead of just popping it all out and redoing to agreed upon specifications. Cabinets require my vinyl albums to be tilted over to remove and fit snug on top and bottom shelves, inviting damage. I wanted storage and access. I mean these were CUSTOM cabinets. The builder inserted the middle of a vertical shelf upside down so the shelf pins didn't line up and also cut the shelves on the other cabinet too short. Looked at me funny when I said you're going to paint that crown molding, right? Apparently finishing, like caulk and paint, is not something this builder felt was part of the project. Wut?! Also several other unexpected build errors/issues. I sat at the counter with my face palmed both days (he had to come back to fix things). I hired for 2 CUSTOM bookcase/cabinet inserts on either side of an elevated hearth fireplace. The cabinets were specifically to hold vinyl records of which the details were discussed multiple times. I originally wanted to build these myself, I have woodworking experience. I hired a professional to avoid making mistakes. Might as well have done it myself for a whole lot less. This was not 3000$ quality.
