Contract stated smooth finish-absolutely not even close to a smooth finish. Some spots are pitted and peeling, and there are 150 linear feet of cracks after only 9 days.1st inspection failed-no communication between the concrete company and the subcontractor. 2nd inspection failed because the plastic wasn't down and because of another issue (termite treatment no one knew about). We were very accommodating. We allowed them to use our excavator and our water, which was left running for several hours after they left for the night.
The job site was left a mess-I have photos of many stakes left in the ground, and part of the frame was still attached to the concrete. Screws and/or nails were left when I had horses that could have been injured. I'm still not sure if I got everything.
Several pieces of rebar were left where my horses walk, and it was to the point of grass growing over them. This is how long they left them there. I was told they forgot they were even there.
Pavers/wall stones were used somewhere in the job without even asking us the day the concrete was delivered. Those were ours. We paid for those and were not reimbursed for them being used. We still do not know what they were used for. A question that remains unanswered to this day. If they were used in the trenches where concrete was to be poured, then we did not receive the concrete we paid for.
The concrete order was also short, based on what they stated in their review of the first plans. I have emails where I sent the plans to them. This ended up costing us an additional $2500.00. The plans I sent via email on May 7, 2026, were the same plans the county approved and stamped. Not sure how they stated the info wasn't on the first set I sent them; therefore, the additional cost for additional concrete was not calculated originally.
We agreed to the original contract of $24,500, and then suddenly, the increase because of their error in reading blueprints/plans. Never received a revised contract with the new amount. We ended up paying an additional $1750.00. A total amount of $27,000.00. There should have been no additional cost. We ended up paying more than we were quoted by other contractors.
I'm very confused about how this became such an issue, as the original contract read a slab sized at 54X62, but we decreased the size to 53X61. Still not sure how short we were.
They kept calling me before I made my decision and said they would beat anyone who was a licensed and insured contractor. I sent them 3 estimates. Not sure how they missed seeing that info on the other estimates. In fact, their estimate and final cost exceeded some of the estimates I had. They said they would beat anyone else s estimates, but they basically bait-and-switched us. Concrete was not ordered properly, and they had to rush another truck, and they were not even ready with the site for the next load. They then said it was a hot pour, so it wasn't curing properly.
Sub-contractors left the site unfinished after the concrete pour that day. Knee pads, water bottles, and tools were left on concrete that hadn't hardened yet.
The subcontractor even mentioned this when there was a dip in the concrete.
When we spoke to the OWNER of the concrete company, he was very rude and short with my husband. This was on Friday late afternoon, June 26, 2026.
When my wife/co-owner came out because I had several questions that needed answers, she made every excuse in the book for why he was like he was on the phone.
Excuse after excuse on this job from day one.
