Cary painted my exterior as well as my interior both look wonderful. He is also is a great help in picking out colors.

I hired Carey to paint inside cupboards and also the outside of house. He used great detail in painting the cabinets. And helped in color coordination. Outside job was well prepared. And paint job was perfection. Always cleaned up daily.

Probably the highest quality choice for house painting in south valley. Cary and his team painted my place (house and detached garage) in 2018. Thorough is the best description of the process from start to finish. The bid process was characterized by significant detail including a complete survey of the structures with measurements to provide a fully documented account of costs of materials and labor. The prep process was equally detailed with identification of any dry rot issues that would require attention. Caulking was well and truly completed to a standard that exceeded my expectations. Color selection was an interactive process which ensured that we would be satisfied with the final result. Two coats of the highest quality paint were laid down in an extremely professional manner on both siding and trim. The level of gloss was higher than the previous job with the benefit being cleaner, easier maintenance going forward. The process which spanned a couple of weeks was accomplished in a very tidy way with detailed clean-up after each day’s work. Cary and his people were easy to work with on custom requests. In our case we had some issues with flickers roosting in the corbels in the eaves of our craftsman style home, making a mess of the sides of the house and patios. We identified a bird deterrent product that we felt would discourage this behavior. The team did an expert job of installing the bird spikes to the corbels such that flickers are no longer a problem. We can assure you that the work that Cary delivers is well beyond what others provide. If you are looking for the cheapest bid, Custom Brush is not the right fit for you. If, however, you are looking for a job that will preserve the value of your property for years to come and will make your home look better than new then Cary can and will make it so. An added benefit is that the entire team is very low key and friendly so there was never a bad vibe to make you uncomfortable having them around!

Cary and his team are exceptional craftsmen. Everything from the detailed bid to the cleanup after completion was first class. This was the first repaint for our house completed in 2008. After the power wash, the place looked really good. After the two generous coats of top quality PPG paint, the place looks better than new. Every detail from caulking to replacing any dry rot found was carefully and expertly rendered. The structures are repro craftsman with a lot of details consistent with that style so the trim work and doors required significant work. The guys added bird spikes over the corbels on the gables as we have had problems with these becoming roosts. The also added stainless plates on the exposed ends of said corbels since the previous paint had completely disappeared in 10 years. This added to the cost of the project but will extend it life substantially. The house is a walkout basement which is essentially 2 story on 3 sides, 4600 sq ft and the garage is a 2 car enclosed with large carport. Eight gables in all define the project. Don't be frightened off by the price if you want your project done right. I rejected other lower bids that were essentially just a quick walk around and then a number. A low quality bid process is unlikely to deliver a high quality result. Custom Brush is all about quality. The entire 3 person team are extremely friendly and cooperative to top it all off.

Cary came out and gave me an estimate.  He was able to put someone on my job right away which was a plus, so I had him prime the walls and put two finish coats on the ceiling throughout the entire place.  The cost was a bit more than I had thought painting would be, but they did an excellent job...the ceilings looked new and the work was done quickly, and with attention to details. It was worth every penny. The work went well.  They arrived when they said they would and finished up in a couple of days.

Cary is a pro and he really knows what he is doing. He also knew exactly what he was getting into and how difficult it would be. I wanted and was hoping for a lower number, but he was realistic about the actual amount of effort it would take to remedy the botched paint job and we agreed upon an approach we could both live with. Ultimately Cary was able, inspire of the Thanksgiving Holiday and winter cold, to complete the project within our required timeline. He made it happen, and it looks great and came in under the budget we had agreed too. I am very satisfied with his services and have no hesitations whatsoever about recommending him. He will do a great job for you and is very fairly priced.

It was fantastic! They were incredibly thorough and detailed, and the level of effort and expertise was impressive. The owner was very involved with the crew and made sure that the job was done expertly. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Can't remember all the details now (forget if I submitted evaluation at the time), but they did a first-rate job.  Had them come back this past summer 2015 to power wash entire house as am told that doing so every couple of years extends life of paint. <br />

<p>Cary and his crew were very professional and knowledgeable.  We met with Cary to discuss what we wanted.  He gave us many pointers and ideas that we hadn't considered to ensure that the project would come out looking as great as possible.  If we had been 100% set on how we wanted it done and which colors we wanted to use, he would have accommodated that, but we chose to defer to his experience on the which parts of the house got the trim color, which parts got the main color, etc.  We gave him a general idea of the color scheme we wanted, and he quickly helped us choose colors that looked great together.  When he came out the first time, we talked about the project for about 30 minutes, then he spend another 60-90 minutes walking around the house, measuring, finding trouble spots that would need attention, etc.  Other companies that I had come bid the job spent about 10 minutes doing a quick walk around.  I am sure that the quotes I got back would have ended up being higher as they found problems that weren't identified in the initial walk around.</p> <p>Cary's price was higher than the other quotes that I got, but I have had bad experiences in the past with other contractors on other work I've had done.  After talking to Cary, hearing about his experience, techniques, and the detail that he puts into his work, I was confident that it was worth the extra money.</p> <p>Once we agreed to have the work done, Cary was very good about keeping in contact with me to let me know when his crew would be onsite to start the cleanup and prep work.  The work was done in the spring, so we had to work around some weather issues, but they were always there when they said they would be.  They handled everything, from pressure washing and sanding, to painting, cleanup, etc.  They also did a great job of cleaning up after themselves each day to minimize the impact of their presence.  Everyone was super friendly, polite, and respectful of our property and family.  Just a complete pleasure to work with.</p> <p>The end result turned out even better than we were expecting, and during the process and afterwards, we have had a lot of people we don't know drive up to the house, comment on how great it looked, and ask who did the work.  We handed out a lot of Cary's cards and even got him a job or two from referrals.  </p> <p>I would not hesitate to hire Custom Brush Company for my painting needs in the future.  Well worth the money.  You can tell that Cary and his crew are dedicated to doing the best possible job, doing it right the first time, and not just about making a buck and moving on to the next job.</p> <br />

Custom Brush owner Cary Powell came out in March to examine the house and to give us an estimate. We obtained a total of 3 estimates for the job. They were all comparable, within a thousand dollars. We selected Custom Brush based on the careful inspection and description of the job by Mr. Powell. Our job was scheduled for late August and the work began on time. The all important prep work was done with care, as was the subsequent painting. Depending on the task for the day, anywhere from one to four workers were on site. All performed very professionally and left the property in orderly condition at the end of the work day. The finished product met or exceeded our expectations. <br />

Overview: Custom Brush is an excellent painting company - the owner's name is Cary (guy). I very confidently recommend this painter and plan on using Carys services again when we have the interior of our home painted in a year or so. Gory Details: I chose Cary to paint my house for 3 reasons: 1) my local paint store, whom I trust, recommended Cary and two other painting firms 2) Carey's Angie list reviews were real, plentiful and positive (and Cary replied to the non-positive comments in a factual and owner-centric way) 3) interviewed Cary during his estimate visit where Cary emphasized quality and his experience at developing his business using improved but simple process. Hired Cary in Feb by providing a 15 (or 20?) percent down payment. Scheduled work for late Aug. I revised the start date due to other household events and Cary gladly accomodated the date change. day 1-3: power washing Day 5-7: prepping house (scraping old paint off where needed, caulking-caulking-caulking, masking Day 8-12: painting Cary emphasizes proper prepping. And so did his experience/lard care members. I visited quite a bit with the crew throughout the project and they were friendly with me and my family and respectful of our house. The crew informed me that they liked working for Cary because he emphasized quality. They have worked for other painters that they described as "splash and dash " Painters who just wanted to get paint on the house and move to the next one. Carrie is not like that at all. he emphasizes quality even to his least experienced employees. The caulk used was very high quality (and expensive). It it is obvious carry invests in his company by providing very high quality tools and materials. It is obvious Carrie invests in his company by providing very high quality tools and materials with business this was a really positive piece of information I discovered during the job? That Cary runs his business exactly as he said he did when I was interviewing him - invest in quality! Cary picked out the color of our doors and his ability to provide very tasteful color schemes is obvious ? Both my wife and I were super pleased with the door color. cary is a very hands on service business owner who is passionate about painting in a quality way. I feel his pricing is not high due to the quality of work he does. I am very glad I hired Cary and recommend him to anyone wanting to hire a quality painter who provides a quality product/services and who is fair (not overpriced) to his customers and to his employees. <br />

We were very impressed by Cary's enthusiasm for delivering high quality service and products.  Scheduling was a bit of a challenge and the project time was longer than expected.  However, his team did a great job and the outcome was excellent.  They spent a lot of time in preparation which resulted in tight house and an outstanding paint job.  We've had many comments about how nice our house looks with the new paint.  Although, Custom Brush was the higher bid, I believe the others wouldn't have done as much preparation and used lower quality paint.  Cary delivered on his promise and we got a excellent paint job that should last a very long time. <br /> We will likely have them back this winter to do some interior work. <br /> <br /> <br />

<p>Custom Paint was very thorough and did excellent work.  </p> <p>Cory promptly showed up for our estimate and spent a lot of time working with us to ensure we got just the right colors we wanted for our house.</p> <p>He and his crew arrived as scheduled and promptly went to work prepping the house for paint.  They spent 3 -4 days just in preparation, washing, patching repairing and sealing the exterior.  Every day after they finished they would spend time cleaning up<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p> so that you never knew they had been there. When it came time to paint they masked off just the section they doing that day so as to inconvenience us as little as possible. They properly covered the gardens and plantings, taking extra care and treating everything as if it was theirs.  They took extra care around our trailer to make sure no overspray landed on it.  After they were through Cory waited a couple of days and then came back for the final inspection and payment.  Only when we were satisfied did Cory request the final payment.</p> <p>It took a little longer that expected but they did an excellent job and applied 2 coats of paint to ensure it would last us for years.</p> <p>We are using him again to perform some interior painting later this year,</p> <p>I would gladly recommend him to anyone seeking a house painter, exterior or interior.</p> <br />
