Bathroom Remodel
Jason came highly recommended by my lender as meticulous and the guy people call when others don t meet your expectations. Sadly, I m calling someone else to come fix his work. I originally hired him for a bathroom remodel. Once he got started I hired him to also repair the holes our electrician created from rewiring our home. Being transparent, I am taking care of my 84 year old grandfather and I was on a bit of a time crunch. I moved into a fixer upper and had no idea what I was getting myself into. Challenges on the job: no electricity (only two working outlets). Being an experienced contractor I would think he would find a way to overcome this with construction lights or something. At first I was impressed with the finished product. The before and after were like night and day, so I was happy. Then I got in and really started to find flaws in every single thing he worked on. He did offer to fix things, but even that was a mess Bathroom - The grout is sloppy. Plus it s not a color I care for. He first said it will brighten up over time-about a month. Then he said he took the tile to have it color matched. Where the previous vanity and mirror were are very rough and not even sanded down. Paint is patchy. There s leftover glue on the glass shower doors. Paint drips all over. Where he replaced the window the cement outside was never fanned out. I wish I had complained about this more to him. And got some money back on this as well Paint $1500 refund(2 Br 1 Bath 2 living areas) - the house was built in 1952, hasn t been lived in in quite some time, and hadn t had maintenance in even longer. First he claimed he spent 6 hours sanding everything. Then he retracted and said only the windows and doors were sanded because you don t sand walls. He tried saying he did things here and there for me as a favor, but it was a disservice when it was sloppy. There were drip of paint and missed spots. For my bedroom I chose a gray, and wasn t didn t mention I wanted white ceilings. I got an all gray room and when he corrected it you could still see the gray underneath. It was as if he ran out of paint and used what he had. The line work from ceiling to wall was wonky. He didn t remove the recessed lighting and painted over them. Drywall (40+holes) - Every drywall patch he worked on dipped in or was not smoothed out. He also tightened our outlets so they look bent in. He blamed this on the electrician for using drywall and not plaster. I found chunks of drywall all over the place. Closet- he also created a more functional closet for a bedroom. He left the inside walls all wavy. The drywall inside was never sanded down. His reasonings, which to me felt like excuses or placed blame on someone else. The house has never been taken care of. No electricity, pressure from me to get in. Admittedly, at one point I was trying to find a way to help him/get other projects going, maybe he bit off more than he could chew. Maybe I was too much. We had conversations about him getting people to help him, but he said no one was working because of the corona virus. He also said he could get some Mexicans at Home Depot . I can t remember what came after that. Maybe he wasn t sure how well they ve been keeping with all the social distancing. Either way, there was a lack of communication. I have never hired a contractor before. I had no idea what to expect. But the proof is in the pudding. All sloppy/messy/rushed.

"First of all the home was 70 years old and had been severely neglected. upon completion she walked the property and thoroughly examined everything then she paid me. Days after completing the job I was sent a text message from her "The house looks amazing and thanks for bringing my vision to life". 2 weeks after completing the job and being paid I was contacted by her that she had some touch ups for me to do, no problem I went over to take care of them and when I got there I was confronted with the complete mess the flooring guys had left. There was so much dust on everything you could write in the walls and she wanted me to repaint the house for her for free instead of having it cleaned. The flooring guys installed unpainted molding and her father had come in and removed the furnace that she also wanted painted. When I said no and that I would just touch up the areas she pointed out. Now all of sudden there are problems with everything. I touched up all the areas she pointed out and even installed the vanity of which I was supposed to be paid for but never was. The next day she contacts me with even more minor complaints. I finally got to the point where I knew I could do no more for her and offered her a refund. She said yes and requested that I refund her the amount of $1500, I agreed and sent the check to part ways. I should have been more cautious when the first time I meet the 84 year old grandfather and he tells me that she has issues and it was her fault they had to move out of their current house. Now about her specific accusations : Grout color, I asked her several times what color and she would just say "I dont know, I m bad at picking colors, how about rainbow"? So finally I just matched the color to the floor tile, color I chose was antique white. She then complained it wasn't white enough. Paint drips, there was 70 years of bad paint jobs and they had caused drips everywhere and now all of a sudden they where my fault. Lines in the drywall next to the vanity, this was never something I was contracted to address and it was never mentioned. Stucco outside the window. I removed the small window in the bathroom, framed the wall replaced header, installed the new window, then patched the stucco all for $300, $2000 less then the going rate and her complaint was the stucco wasn't feathered out enough. When actually it was great for a repair patch to a 70 year old home. Electrical boxes, when the electrician put the new boxes in he set them for dry wall in a plastered home. All the boxes ended up minimum of half an inch recessed which did cause problems when installing the cover plates. When I mentioned this to her she told me I should have told the electrician. The ceiling paint, we did a walk through and she told me exactly what she wanted done and I did that. Then as she stated above she no longer wants it exactly as it was and wants me to repaint the ceilings white. Of which I do for free after purchasing the color she now wants also for free. Then when im done she complains its not white enough. So I have now painted the ceilings twice and now she wants a refund of which I give her then she still comes here and complains about something I did twice for free. I am thoroughly convinced this person is bipolar, as I could never have a normal conversation with her or get any straight or confirming answers from her as to what she wanted done. I fixed 50 briefcase size holes in the walls and she actually complained about a hole caused by a push pin. I tried everything to please her, I addressed every single issue she brought up weeks after completing the job and being paid and when I no longer wanted to go around in circles with her I refunded the exact amount of money she wanted back. Then after all that weeks later she comes here to continue to harass me proving my point that even when I give her everything she asks for its still not enough!"

Fantastic! Jason came to fix a hole in the ceiling, found problems with my plumbing, brought them to my attention and rescheduled his appointment, all at no extra charge. When he did return, he did the best patch job I've ever seen. He matched the texture perfectly and left no sign that any work had been done.

"I had to special order this customers door, when the door was ready I then went back and picked it. There was a special 3 day sale on this door so I went out of my way on a holiday weekend to order it during the sale so this customer could save even more. I gave the customer the reciept and asked only for what I paid with no mark up. Customer asked me to do the work on my day off so he could be there to watch the work. And I agreed. When I was done I had the customer thoroughly inspect the work and to operate the door several times, which he did. He said it looked good and he paid me. 3 weeks later he contacts me and tells me he has found a specialty hinge that he wants put on the door and asks if I will come out and install it. He says he doesn't feel comfortable doing it himself and would prefer if I did it. I agree and go install it for him for which he pays me nothing. And after all that I get a less then perfect rating. Apparently going out to this persons home on a Saturday morning and working entirely for free still isnt good enough customer service for him. I guess some people are just impossible to please."

If you need drywall repair work done you need to hire Jason. He answered my repair request promptly, he came out to give us an estimate when he said he would. When we hired him he came out on the exact day and time that he said he would come out. His work was flawless. He is not only professional but very personable. You can't go wrong by letting Jason do the work you ask for. If I could give him ten stars I would. Thanks again jason!!!!!!!!!

Jason did interior and exterior work for us. He replaced the posts on our front porch and made the new ones look exactly like the original ones looked 22 years ago. He installed recessed lighting in the laundry room and new fixtures in both bathrooms. Then he repaired drywall in a bathroom, painted it and the cabinets, and installed baseboards and receptacles and switches. The room looks brand new! Jason has a good design sense and suggested ways to balance the colors in the bathroom.

Jason is great! He goes out of his way to really understand what you're looking for and looks to create your vision. I also like that Jason responds right away, which is important during something like a plumbing emergency!
