From Day 1, I was not happy. They came promptly to get my deposit, but on the day the work was to begin they did not show up (no call, no email). I had to email and ask where they were and was told they would start the next day. Day 2 one person came to take down part of my existing chain-link and did not return that day to set posts, as we were told he would. Now we have 5 dogs and no way to keep them in. We thought we would just have to make it like that for one night, but... Day 3, no show, no call. Day 4, I reached out and was told that they could not work on it because rain was expected. (they could have left me with a workable fence in the meantime. They could have CALLED to tell me they were not coming). I was ready to cancel the project by Day 4 but DH convinced me to stick with it. That was Saturday. Day 6, I cannot stay home waiting on them another day, I have to go to work- I emailed about my frustrations and gave instructions to not ring the doorbell when they arrive as DH was on 3rd shift starting that day and needed to sleep keep in mind they should have been finished by now, but they could help themselves to the backyard. I get a notice on my phone at lunch, they are ringing the bell, and the crew has no guidance, no specs on what I want done in the yard. The project manager reportedly (Justin) did not give them any kind of instructions. I had to get on the phone and explain the whole thing over the phone (facetime) while at work. Day 6 I am annoyed but relieved to see the fence started. Day 7, the crew is great; they are polite, hard workers, putting up quality work. At the end of the day I am starting to chill out and am prepared to pay the next installment but get an email (not a call) saying they did not account for enough wood in the estimate and I need to pay $825 more for labor and material! After all these delays and his refusal to measure when he came for the estimate (he said *I do this all the time, I do not need to measure*)! I am IRATE but trying to be understanding. Also, I want them to FINISH IT. By Day 8, they finish all but one plank in the front by the gate and the hardware. Here is where it gets really fun. I pay the extra money and the full balance. It took several days- I lost track- to get the final plank in place, so I still had a dog-sized hole in the fence. They finally put hardware on, but it does not make sense for our fence... it is an auto latch type, and we get locked out of the fence if it closes, so they rigged up a STRING and promised to come back with new hardware. That was last week, and we are still opening the gate with a string hooked to the other side. I have no hopes of them returning. I will say that one gate is already starting to sag, so I may have to call for that, but I am so *done* with the lack of communication, I do not even want to see them here anymore. Also, I was told that they would add some extra boards to the front of the fence to give it a more finished look if they had enough wood. Remember that extra $825 I paid for... I watched them load up a truck and drive off with a truck bed full of good wood (they had some that was bad, this was not bad) but that gate was not filled in as expected. Something else irritating - the project manager did not talk to me about money or timeline or any of my concerns. He did not collect the money from me, even though he was here one afternoon. He always sent someone else in his place. In summary, I feel disrespected, and slightly cheated. I would hire this crew on the side, but I would not go thru this company. If timeliness, cost, or communication is important to you, I would stay away.
