D and D installed crown molding and baseboard in several rooms and a hallway to finish a project we had not been able to complete. Don and David painted, installed, and caulked the molding and baseboard and left the area clean and orderly. I'm so pleased to have my crown molding and baseboard completed. Now my rooms look finished.

Don was unprofessional and unorganized. He tried to overcharge from what the original bid for the job was. He also became aggressive when issues arose that he was unprepared to handle. I would be wary about hiring him. I am sure his response to this review will demonstrate his poor customer service!

CAVEAT EMPTOR: Don and Dave's work is very good. However, they engage in dishonest/unethical business practices (significant overcharges). The wonder is why they feel the need to, when they do good work. I was quoted an amount to complete requested work. When the work was completed, the amount was $1K OVER the estimate. Don's reasoning was that materials were more costly than anticipated, however, at no time when purchasing materials did he ever say I was over budget. Items he purchased have a known, unchanging number which is not costly: hollow core bifold doors, french doors, stain, etc. I specifically ask that they NOT complete tasks that Don went ahead and completed anyway (replaced hinges upstairs that I had said don't replace, extensive trim work upstairs that I felt looked good already). Don also added work that I had never asked for, noting that it needed to be done (Okay, and the amount for that was reasonable). I did add additional work, like installation of 2 toilets, replacing door hardware throughout the home. And these amounts seemed reasonable (300 for 2 toilets, and $5 per door, etc.) However, the amount for additional work came up to $2,000 more dollars in addition to the original quoted amount. Some of the work originally wanted done, did *not* get done, simple things like putting up hw on 5 drawers (kind of odd). All of this I think I could've worked out--and this is the point at which I can honestly rank my experience as one of the worst. Invoices I received from Don looked as if a middle school level person had completed them-they were confusing, they did not use standard invoice format, numericals not presented in a linear fashion. No receipts presented at outset. Then, when I questioned Don about the amount being over by $1K, additional work totally $2K that seemed more like $1K--he got very angry and defensive in about 2 seconds. Started pulling out all his paperwork all over the kitchen top--as if to say, "Are we really going to have to go over all these papers? " Well, yes, when you're over, you have to go over paperwork and receipts. That is a reasonable request and something he should have anticipated would occur, given the overages. Don was not able to remain calm. He then began to make sarcastic comments--that he would take off some stair work totalling $174.00. When I failed to respond and just looked on silently, shocked at his behavior, He replied, angrily, "Or not." I even began to say that his conduct was unprofessional and he got even angrier, clearly failing to see the point. On leaving, Don again made a comment about how he had plenty of customers, plenty of requests for other work. That is to say, your customer satisfaction does not matter one iota to me, I'm off to other homes. I'd add that most of the time, I just remained silent and was finding it hard to find the words. In hindsight, I wish I'd refused to pay the bill at all and forced Don to recomplete his invoice and set up a time in a public place to review invoice and receipts. I had fully intended to use Don and Dave for other work remaining at my home...but apparently, fleecing me on the first go around was more important. I have waited 3 full days to see if Don had any change of heart regarding his behavior--he has failed to reach out to me in any way. Again, the wonder is why D&D feel it necessary to gouge customers when they do good work and would definitely be called for future work. In closing, I also very much discourage any single women from utilizing them, because his hostile behavior was pretty intimidating. I only wish I could upload a copy of the invoice, because a picture is worth a thousand words. Now, off to the Nextdoor app to warn others.

huge attention to detail and customer satisfaction. always leaves the house looking neat and tidy at end of day. quality of work is wonderful! All around D&D can do anything from fine carpentry to caulking. The house is 100x better for their efforts.

We had D and D install crown molding throughout the house. They were very professional and performed exceptional quality work, paying very close attention to detail. They do it all (install, paint and caulk). We would not hesitate to hire D and D again for any other home improvement project. They perform all kinds of tasks other than crown molding.

Don and Dave went above and beyond! Their work was done thoughtfully and professionally. Throughout the project, they provided additional value by working through changes and making suggestions regarding how to improve our home while working with our budget. We will definitely work with them again!

This was a very detailed and custom rail and stair project. Don and Dave worked through several changes. Don was very receptive to discussing and incorporating changes during the project.

Don's a very creative guy with a strong desire to deliver a great product. He can do just about anything and is very competent at his craft. I will hire him again.

Great workmanship from start to finish, Don is really a specialist with crown molding installation. Would recommend D&D to anyone remodeling their home.
