Do not pay in advance! My family used him for thousands of dollars worth of work. The work wasn?t shoddy, but once he had the money in hand, he didn?t complete the work. He still owes my family thousands of dollars in work. We asked him to either complete the work or return the money and there was no follow through on either front.

DMR, turned our rear deck into a screened in porch. The enclosure turned out great. The materials used were great quality and the craftsmanship turned our porch into a great hangout spot that looks great on our house. David was upfront with me about pricing, timelines, and always available to answer any questions I had. Overall a great experience. We love our new screened in porch!

He destroyed my home and made it unlivable. I took a 100,000 loss and had to sell my home. Do not hire this company you will regret it.

I really didn't want to write this bad review because honestly, David Rand is very kind and ambitious and I understand how important reviews are for a company, however, I am left pretty dissatisfied with DMR. We purchased a 1950s home with a very outdated kitchen that my fiance and I wanted to get fully remodeled. We hired David to do the job which consisted of ripping out 2 walls, and redoing the kitchen floors, cabinets, sink, installing all new appliances, the whole deal. We also gave the entire house a bit of a facelift with painting the interior and a few other minor things. To summarize, there was a total lack of communication from David as well as overpromised timelines that didn't seem to add up. To give context, the project was supposed to take 6 weeks and instead, took over 3 months. There were several days where workers wouldn't show up even after David texted us letting us know that they'd be there the next morning. We were constantly hounding him daily to try to understand updated timelines since not a single thing was compliant with the timeline he created. We spent days and a ton of money on paint samples trying to choose a color for our cabinets and without asking us, David changed the color of the cabinets suggesting they'd look better in blue as opposed to sage. The cabinets showed up and we were appalled that he'd change the color WE CHOSE without asking first so we made him get them repainted at no additional cost. They were repainted but the quality of the painting job decreased and the paint is already chipping and it's only been a month or two. We ordered a new front door and paid for it but it "hadn't been delivered" by time the kitchen was completed so he let us know that he'd be in touch once it had been delivered. Weeks went by with no communication so we took it upon ourselves to reach out about the door....he responded once saying he needed to go pick it up, and then we texted him every single day asking for an update and he never responded. To this day, we are unsure if we're even going to get that front door. Fortunately, the kitchen did turn out beautiful however, I would not recommend working with this company. About 3/4 of the way through the project we started looking into other contractors to finish the job because David wasn't delivering on his promises and we were so tired of waiting around for this project to get done. I'd strongly advise finding another contractor. The lack of professionalism has been mind blowing to us.

DMR has done multiple projects for us. Both large and small. We have always been very happy with the finished project as well as the timeframe and cost. He is my go-to for ANYTHING I need done. Great company!!

David, his project manager Amanda and employees take great pride in their work. So far it has been top notch with end results looking beautiful. They have turned my 1949 home around and are bringing it back to life. I appreciate the amount of care that has been taken with the carpentry and attention to detail ending in the best results. I'm using both my remodeled bathrooms everyday now and love every inch of them. Kitchen is almost done and I can hardly wait to step into my dream kitchen. I have more projects to go and I will be sticking with DMR Design. I highly recommend them for your next project. Carrie H.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!! We hired David Rand at DMR to do a total remodel of our bathroom. The original quote was $8500.00. We ended up paying him $11,00.00 The finished product was adequate, but it took me $4000,00 to bring the job up to code. David Rand is a con man. He doesnt have a contractors license and did not pull permits, So we are left holding the bag. Work was done willy-nilly with different people showing up each day. No one seemed to know what was going on. It was a complete clown show. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! Horrible. RUNAWAY FROM THE PEOPLE. They over-promise, under-deliver, and then blame you when you ask questions and want them to get the job done as quoted. David Rand does not know what he is doing and his assistant Amanda is a nightmare. They over-promise and under-deliver. There are also all kinds of hidden costs that show up mid-way through the project. My husband and I needed to be here every moment as our bathroom remodel happened. In essence, we were the professionals watching the job. People showed up late. Did not know what other workers had done and then left early. It was a nightmare. A Jon that was promised to take 2 weeks and $8250.00, took 6 weeks and cost us $11,000. To fix what was not done right cost us another $4,000. David Rand is not a contractor. He also did not pull any of the needed permits for our job. The job started 2 days late--with a text arriving at 10:00 pm the night before advising of this fact--and we became hostages to the poor management and unprofessionalism of this company. Workers showed up without notice and left with no check-up or oversight on what they had done. The end job is adequate, but we had to go through drama, abuse, and lots of baloney to get it done. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE?

They not only saved us (from the previous contractor who finished half the job (poorly)and then left. David at DMR knew exactly what we needed to do and he was a true professional and gave us a reasonable estimate. His Project Manager,Amanda, was so knowledgeable and proficient. She and her crew finished our whole bathroom remodel (with having to rip out the mess that the first contractor had done wrong and then redo it) in less than a week, working 9-6 or later every day including Sunday! The finished product is exactly what we wanted.

We have an ongoing projects and we are generally very satisfied with their work.
