Matt was a true professional in every aspect of the industry that he represents. He was always on time, easy to communicate with and most important he was very attentive to detail. Matt is a young man that is far beyond his years and extremely responsible in the building trades. I will not hesitate to use him again.

I am very pleased with the work Matt did in our third bedroom. It came out so much better than I anticipated. He was professional and very accommodating with our changing schedule. We would definitely hire him for future projects.

First, Matt showed up which was 99% better than anyone else I contacted. I used him from straightening a weather vane to fixing a place on my roof to repairing and painting my front door surround to putting in a couple of windows. His work is exacting and very well done and done when he said it would be. I certainly would hire him again.

Reframed interior of our old farm-house in Portage, framed cavities for plumbing & HVAC access, reinforced subfloor and added support to timber foundation, added headers & hung solid wood doors. Very satisfied with the workmanship and expediency of this job. Started as a small project, but as it became evident we needed more done, he gave us a schedule and made time to complete everything we needed of him. Would advise those considering hiring DHI to have a full scope of the project laid out ahead of time so they can aquire materials and allot hours. We went far above our initial scope, and although we are blown away by the quality of the work, it certainly made scheduling much more strenuous on them.

Matthew came to replace an exterior door that turned out to be a bigger project than anticipated. He worked all day and into the night to complete the project, and did a beautiful job. We needed extra materials and he went out and bought them, and charged us a reasonable price for them. He is a super-nice young man, and very particular about the quality of his work. We are so pleased that we are planning a bathroom remodel with him in the Spring.

Hired Matt because he was a nice guy starting out in business this summer. He gave me an estimate with total price listed. Originally, the estimate included car siding. Matt said the car siding was costly and labor intensive. Verbally we decided to use a less costly product , prime siding T1-11. He said he would deduct difference in price. He used pine trim in place of treated. He did not deduct the difference in price for cheaper material. I had to buy primer and prime the trim myself, due to winter weather. I asked for the price of the primer. He was rude. When questioned he said it was an estimate not a bid. He also said we should check our contract. At no time did he supply a bid or contract. If using Matt you need to ensure all details are clearly written. Request a bid or contract. He does not consider an estimate marked total price. I think he did a fair job.

I needed someone to put in my flagpole so I called several contractors for estimates. Matt Dahlman came to my home, we talked, he listened closely to what I wanted and needed, and within 24 hrs he emailed the estimate to me. It was a little more expensive than the other estimate I had received, but I accepted his because he not only came highly recommended but he actually listened to me. He's personable, kept me informed, arrived on time and did an excellent job. I am very satisfied with the job he did and am glad I hired him instead of another company that was not willing to do the job to code and treated me with condescension . . after all, they couldn't conceive that a 70 yr old woman knew what she was talking about.
