Dan is a good company and did a great job and I recommend them to any one!

Dan's Paving solicited my patronage at my door and offered a price to do the work THAT DAY because he was in the neighborhood. I checked "Home Advisor" website where he was recommended, and I compared his pricing with bids I had sought two years prior. The price was within reason and Home Advisor endorses Dan's Paving, so I accepted with the condition he accept $3,0000 that day, and another $1,200 to be cashed the following business day (Monday) so I could cover the check. (He demanded I write the check to "Dan Cooper" in that case. As winter passed I noticed severe raveling on my drive, and tried to call him again (the first two calls were made the previous November asking for him to return a broom one of his men removed from my garage) and left a message with his service for him to call me re: raveling. (Raveling starts with loss of small aggregate and advances to larger aggregate loosening on the surface, gradually penetrating lower. It is due to improper mix ratio, insufficient compaction, uncontrolled temperature of the mix, or a combination of the three.) I spoke with a neighbor in late April who also contracted with Dan's Paving the same day and he brought up his raveling to me, and that the original homeowner to contract Dan had voiced similar complaints. I commiserated that I, too have loose appregate getting worse and had tried to contact Dan's Paving. He said he went to the address on the contract and it was a strip mall devoid of Dan's Paving! I wrote the Michigan Attorney General to ask him to intervene in the operation of Dan's Paving and to initiate a process to make me whole in this regard.

Prompt and efficient, however, one of his workers cut too much off one of my pine trees without getting permission and then left the branches for me to dispose of. I'm 76 year old cancer patient. when I gave him the check he asked for$1,500 more to seal the asphalt. I thought I was hiring him to do a complete job. I had an estimate for $500 less but hired him because they were on site.

Courteous, professional, and prompt. I would hire Dan and his team again.

Great people to work with! They show up on time ready to get the job done and done right. I highly recommend Dan's Paving and will use them for any future projects.

We agreed to a 12' wide driveway. The morning of the install they spray painted where the driveway will be placed, we did not check the measurements which ended up being not even 10' wide in spots. Their response was "you ok'd it when we sprayed the lines" and that the job took way more asphalt than they had anticipated. I don't think they properly prepared the surface before installing either. They will be cheaper but they cut corners/size of driveway to get there. I wouldn't hire again.

Dan is a pleasure to deal with. My new driveway looks great and his team completed it quickly and efficiently. We highly recommend this family-owned local business. Thanks!
