Wood Fence - Install
Dave seemed like a very nice guy and he was readily available to do the job. The job was done exactly when I wanted it done. However, the quality of the material used was fairly poor (prefab) and I know I paid way too much for very little done. I had less than 90 linear feet of privacy fencing installed at $2300.00 and no metal backing for the gates which were just cut panels installed with cheap parts. The gates would not open and close without digging around, the whole fence sways in the wind because there is clearly not enough 4x4 supports. He told me he would build it in a certain high quality way to my specification but came up with pretty bad excuses for not doing it right. He told me he would come back the next day to finish making adjustments but never did! I called weeks later and told him that the gates don't open properly, it needs more support, and a few other problems, and he said that it was because of the rain that he couldn't make it and that he would be back on Saturday to finish (ridiculous!). After spending $50.00 on screws and about a week of work going out there every day screwing in each panel and connecting them tightly to each 4x4, I finally have it to where it is somewhat stable (I hope). Clearly he got his money and that's all that mattered to him! Please do not make the same mistake I did and hire this company!!

Nice people in the beginning when getting quotes, but don't expect the work they promise. They are not professionals at all they say they are. And now that we've shopped around a bit they are definitely way to over priced for the amount of time and work they do.

"Have heard no feedback from this customer so do not know what the problem was. I can not fix the problem if not told there was one. Have tried to contact homeowner to see what the problem was with no response. We stand behind our work and would gladly do whatever it took to satisfy this customer. With no response from homeowner, I can not fix this problem whatever it may have been. We pride ourselves on a job well done and do not like someone being unsatisfied with our work. If this customer will call us back, we are willing to fix whatever the problem was."

The only reason they have any star portion at all is because you must give some part to continue on with the review. They did not tell me everything that was wrong and did not honor their word to fix my refrigerator. To make matters worst when I called the company I should have used in the first place they informed me that I may not have needed the thermostat that I paid Dave for. Dave's Repair Service by not doing the job right ending up costing me enough to get a brand new refrigerator. They did not give an itemized bill to tell me how much the individual parts costs either and installed a 2013 year part and its 2015.

"While there with the customer, we had to deal with several members of the family. While speaking with the brother, we informed him that with the thermostat was not working, we could not tell if motor was bad or not. He asked us to go ahead and install the thermostat and go from there. We did exactly that. Customer called the next day and said still was not cooling properly so we informed her we may need to get a new motor but the cost of it and the thermostat may be more than what it would cost to just replace the refrigerator. She insisted WE pay for the new motor and come install it for free. When we refused to do that she got upset."

Window A/C Unit Installation
They installed window unit then started unscrewing screws that caused a freon leak. Told me he had one to do that 3 months ago then he changed it to a couple months ago and changed it again to a month ago. So I had to take unit back get another and have another company install it who stated they will not use poles to sit unit on. $65 was a good price from Dave but I felt u was had.

"Customer had window unit that had a factory defect in it. We offered to wait there for him to go exchange it but he wanted to wait until the next day. We explained that if we had to come back it would be an additional service call fee as his residence was over an hour drive for us. He did not want to pay any more and did not want to go exchange that day. We did NOT cause the leak it was a manufacturer defect. We did everything we could to appease this customer but he wanted to postpone exchanging unit and for us to come back free of charge to reinstall the next day. We were willing to wait that day to complete it. He refused that offer."

I own 3 rental properties and I have been in the military for 17 years. I have to say I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior. David comes out to look at my stove and diagnoses the problem. He then goes to his truck to see if they have the part in stock at his warehouse to repair it. He comes back inside and says that they have the part and all he has to do is go pick it up. He asks for payment (service charge $75 and part charge $60). I give him a check and he states that he will pick up the part and return that same afternoon or the following morning at the latest. I don't hear anything from him that day or the following day so I call him..no answer. I then e-mail him and get a response stating that the part had to be ordered and would be in on Friday (2 days later). Friday comes and no call/email from the company. I call again....no answer. I email again and get a response that the part should be in no later than Tuesday. Tuesday comes around and once again, no contact from David or his wife. I email again and they are backed up because of an ill family member. They ask to give them until Friday. I give them until Friday, and no contact from them. I email again and the family member has passed...give them until Tuesday. I seek legal counsel as you see this is a recurring theme. I then get an email from Tracey Cook stating that I need to contact their son to get the money back. According to her, the son came to my home pretending to be his father and stole my money. If I wanted a refund, I had to contact him. She also stated that he now has his own business on Home Advisor and I should leave the review under that companies profile. At this point I am fed up and I will let the court system handle the outcome. Once I let Tracey Cook know this, she then sends an email to me apologizing for what happened and she gives me her word (exactly how she put it) that her husband (the real repairman) would contact me on Thursday to set up a time to bring me my refund personally. Well, once again, I hear nothing from them. I made the mistake in paying this company prior to work being completed. I have learned my lesson. My stove has been fixed by a reputable company and the diagnoses that David gave me was wrong as well. Do not make the same mistake I did. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.....not even my worse enemy. They have no integrity whatsoever. I have handed over all documents including emails, phone records, check, and receipt for service from this company. I have to take time out of my schedule to take them to court.....all for $135. It's a shame that they are willing to treat customers this way. If you hire this company, GOOD LUCK!!

TOOK THE MONEY AND NEVER SHOWED BACK UP TO DO THE WORK! TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A SENIOR CITIZEN! NEVER GOT THE DISHWASHER, NEVER GOT A CALL BACK OR A RETURN VISIT TO DO THE WORK! HORRIBLE COMPANY AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT USE! THE SON IS AWFUL. THE FATHER SEEMS NICE BUT I CONTRACTED WITH THE SON & NO ONE CAN GET HIM TO COMPLETE THE JOB!!

"While in hospital with mother passing away my son contacted Ms. Stevenson and contracted this job behind my back. I fired him IMMEDIATELY upon hearing of this!! I have contacted customer and her daughter giving them ALL of his personal information!! We do NOT do business this way and I sincerely apologize to Ms. Stevenson and her family for what he did. I will continue to help them in any way possible go after my son to make him responsible for his actions. Please do not judge our company by him. He was fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!"

After getting 3 other bids, Dave came back with the best offer. They explained the entire project, how it would be done and explained who would be there. This team ran into a bit of trouble, NONE OF IT THEIR FAULT. We ran out of stain due to the wood being very dry, they called me, explained they had to get more which I appreciated instead of coming home to more money spent. They worked on a very tight time frame to complete the job and did it ahead of time and looks great. After the job was completed and walked off, they explained their warranty and satisfaction guaranteed very well. You can tell this business values customer service and a job well done. Only one recommendation, if you have an out of town check, please have cash ready. I did not know that and I caused a little delay in payments. But they worked with me on that issue and did not cause a problem. OVERALL BEST SERVICE I HAVE HAD IN SUMTER,SC EVER.

They came out quickly and explained what needed to be fixed on my dryer and removed the part. They ordered the wrong part which was no problem but then stopped answering and returning my calls. A week later, they installed the part but it still didn't work. Gave them 1 more chance but still no dryer. I paid $75.00 for them to come out and tear apart a dryer that was still usable and leave me with nothing and they couldn't complete the job. Not professional or trustworthy, would not recommend.

"We would like to address this comment. We did have to order the part and we did come back and install it. When it was installed it was found ANOTHER part that had been damaged. We wanted to order this other part but she refused to let us. Yes she was charged for initial service call but was NOT charged for trip back to install part. When she was told about ordering the second part she refused for us to do this. The owner himself called and even offered a free service of any kind to make up for the service not going as quickly as she wanted. She refused this also. We pride ourselves on our customer service. We do apologize for this happening."
