Find a Custom Home Builder
We hired David Bauer Custom Homes to design and build our family home and after interviewing multiple custom home builders, I am still 100% sure we picked the very best one. David is honest, responsive, creative, and very easy to work with during the building process. All the subcontractors David hired, were professional and respectful while on site. David ensured everything performed was at the up most quality while trying to stay in budget at the same time. The unique design to my home is EXACTLY what we envisioned and MORE. I love the character it shows and have received an enormous amount of compliments. I have already highly recommend David Bauer Custom Homes to my family and friends.

Find a Custom Home Builder
I really enjoyed working with David. He helped me take and idea in my head to paper and blue print and then full scale. He was also one of the only people I found that would assist on my project without having to GC the entire thing yet still remain very reachable through phone, txt, or email if I had any questions. I learned a lot during this project but did so without any of the inexperienced expensive mistakes someone not a professional in this field could easily make, thanks to David. I now have a beautiful custom built home at a fraction of what its worth and the pride of knowing I did a lot of it myself from design to finishes. Only complaint I have ( and not really a legit complaint) is that David's son, David, also works closely with him on his builds. I really enjoyed working with Little David however it does get a bit confusing which David to call on what parts of the project since they both seem to handle different phases. But both were a joy to work with I had a lot of fun building my dream home. Cant say thank you enough!!

I have no reservations in giving David Bauer Custom Homes our highest recommendation. In the planning stages, he came with ideas and a worked out budget and plan. David listened carefully to help us realize our vision for the house. In the working stages, the work was done dependably and reliably, and all work was carefully inspected. In the completion stages, all work was again carefully inspected and made right if lacking. Since completion, we remain in communication when questions arise. We are very comfortable and happy with all the results.

Mr. Bauer had no problem with the scall of the work and reassured me that everything that my wife and I invisioned was very possible and could be done. He watched our buget and had a good I for detail.

Let me say first that Dave decided to waive all of his contractors fee due to some rather large mistakes that me made. He charges $11,000 and charged us$ 7,000. He cost us an additional $30,000 + so I think it was probably $7,000 too much. This was the most horrible experience from pretty much beginning to end. Dave has NO control of his subs. They smoked in my house putting out ciggarettes on my windowsills. His son's company did all the demo and they tried do charge us for tools they had to purchase. I can't warn you enough. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I would never ever do buisness with this guy or most of his subs ever again.

The majority of cost overages were do to city engineering requirerments, such as sheer walls and 2X6/R-19 insulation in walls, and personal choices the owner made in upgrades. Most all, including the inspectors, agreed that this is now the nicest home in the neighborhood. We finished the project timely and passed all inspections (bank, county, etc.)"

Dave Bauer did an excellent job on our addition. He quotes were accurate, the subcontractors he used were all top-rate, and the work got done in a timely and efficient manner. Dave made himself available to us whenever we had questions.

Excellent communications, results are very satisfactory, and timing was close to estimated timeline. As with most general contractor jobs some contractors were less than desirable and some exceeded expectations, many crafts, disciplines and people were involved over the 2+ month job. Overall we'd rate it an 8 out of 10, meaning a higher would be at a much higher cost.

Control over subcontractors lacking. General care exhibited by subs substandard. Jobsite left a mess routinely. David's idea of holding a sub accountable is countless e-mails.

The HVAC and Electrical issues that we were called back on ended up being non-related to the work we did. We fixed the problem anyway. Both were handled within the same week of request. Yes, I do use e-mail and make countless phone calls every day to communicate with sub-contr. and clients for the best"

Dave is the best! He is very thorough and brought with him excellent ideas for the addition. His crew(s) have been very professional and personable. They have done a great job so far. We are still in the middle of the addition/renovation. I would definitely recommend Dave Bauer Custom Homes to others!
