Davis Service Company continues to provide the best in commercial and residential heating and air conditioning services. They furnish the necessary equipment, obtain the proper permits, design, fabricate and install the following: They service all makes and models of air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, gas and electric furnaces, water source heat pumps, hot water heaters, humidifiers, air purification, and ductwork including complete ductwork design and fabrication for custom built homes, renovations and additions. The service contract has always been one of the pillars of their success. They recommend a spring and fall check-up and servicing every year. Their clients have continued their trust in this company's workmanship and reliability. The service diagnostic charge is $75.00 which covers arriving on your site and up to 1/2 hour of diagnostic time during regular working hours, and $60 an hour thereafter. After hours or weekend calls are at 1 1/2 x the normal rate. Sundays and holidays are at 2 x the normal rate. I was very happy with the job that Davis Service Company did replacing my 21 yr old AC at my house in NW Austin. Bill really listened to my concerns and questions when he came out to do the estimate. I got 2 bids and his bid was much less than the competition with a much better warranty. The guys who did the install were very careful and courteous. Their work was neat and professional. The new unit is a 2.5 ton 16 seer AC with a variable speed blower. It is so much quieter than the older unit and turns on and off gradually (so there is no giant blast of cold air). My only regret is not doing the replacement sooner.

The blower motor on my home heat pump system burned out on a Friday during a cold spell. Davis Service Company quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me a solid and fair quote, rearranged their schedule a little, and had it running again by 11:00 am the following Monday.

Wow, called them at 8:30am and by 10:00am the problem was fixed (burned out ignition switch). Chris (the technician) was absolutely fantastic and professional. Total bill was $175 and I got my heat back on. Do NOT try to sell me anything else!! Highly recommend!!!!

He obviously loves his job and not just the tech part, but the people part. I got my new A/C installed in 2 days (though was offered next day) and it took only 4 hours. We wanted to replace our 13 year old r-22 central a/c unit for a new r-410a system. We bid out for a 5-ton 16SEER a/c, air handler, 90k btu gas heater and coil; a complete system replacement. Davis came in with the best quote package and spent some time going over our requirements without being pushy. There was no hard sell here at all - something my wife and I hate. Rick was very clear about what work would be done, the type of warrantee coverage we would receive... everything. Bottom line - we had our system up and running within 24 hours. The customer service was the BEST! I have no problem reccomending these guys.

Pro - did an excellent job of diagnosing, repairing the A/C problems - the second time. Con - diagnosis was off on first try. Missed that the system was down a pound of refrigerant; diagnosed, but did not clear, the plugged drain line the first time. Result was 2 service calls in excess of $200 each when there should have been only one.

The technician was at my home for only 45 minutes. He immediately disgnosed the problem as an "igniter". He charged me $75 for a service call, $20 labor and $75 for a part. I asked for an explanation of those charges but he didn't provide one. I called the office and asked for an explanation from the owner, he did not call me back. Their web site had lower charges for the service call and labor than they charged me. I'm reporting them tot he Better Business Bureau.
