Deans Home Services is a licensed and bonded professional service company with over 100 years of combined industry experience. We started in plumbing, but we have expanded our services to include heating, air conditioning, electrical, drains, and excavation. Deans Home Services has served Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding Twin Cities area for over 25 years.

Water Heater Installation and Replacement
Our water heater had been leaking. I contacted Dean’s Home Services on Thursday AM 3/5/2026. Their representative Mike Washburn arrived that afternoon. He discussed our options, and we chose a Bradford White water heater. Mike arranged for an install the next day and disconnected the old water heater. At 8:00 AM the next day installers Cody Washburn and Sebastian arrived. The new water heater was installed in an hour and a half. The old heater removed and cleanup completed. We had hot water in less than 24 hours after our original call. Mike, Cory and Sebastian were very helpful and professional. We could not be happier!

Shane, the plumber, cleared the drain clog. He was friendly, on time, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. Shane estimated it would take an hour and it took only about half an hour. I was then charged a ridiculous $830. I feel I was way overcharged and am not happy with this. I do not recommend Dean's Home Services.

Got a new mini-split installed 5 years ago for $20k. Every year the thing was flat. I would have to call them to fix it, and they could never figure it out. They would just recharge it and leave. Fast forward to today, the labor warranty is expired so they won't come out anymore. Had to go with another HVAC contractor to put in a whole new system at my own expense. Turns out Dean's did not properly seal the insulation around the coolant lines, allowing water to get in there and corrode the pipes. If you think air conditioning is worth over $4000 a year, call deans. Otherwise, go with somebody who can actually do the job right. The most amazing part of this whole story is the new system costs less than the old system from Dean's. I guess I should have known something like this would happen. My first trouble with deans was over 10 years ago, I had a mixing valve replaced on my boiler for $600. They guy put it on backwards. I had them come back out and re-do it but come on. How do you put a $50 part on backwards when the customer is paying you $600 to do it.

I called them for a small job, when they arrived I was told "we normally just do bigger jobs" (refused to do the work) I literally paid $49.00 just to be told "we normally just do bigger jobs" - Their moto should be "getting rich $49 at a time". Note: misleading/inaccurate responses from Deans will trigger additional posts detailing my experience with them across additional platforms.

Blake from Dean’s Home Services did a phenomenal job explaining a couple of scenarios to unclog our toilet. He was very professional, skilled, informative, and no high pressure sales pitch. Plus he has a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend Dean’s and will use them again if need be.

Dean's removed a large nonfunctioning halogen ceiling fixture with a small simple LED fixture that I provided. More importantly, Dean's replaced my electrical breaker box and all of the breakers and added a main shut off in the box so I don't have to run downstairs to the electric meter room to completely shut off my electricity. It wasn't cheap but well worth it. They also added a separate circuit and breaker for my bidet which was tripping the breaker hallway through the cycle, leaving me fumbling in the dark looking for my flashlight. I highly recommend Dean's!

Luke, the electrician was great to work with. However, the $644.00 charge for a ten-minute task that involved cutting and reconnecting two wires to replace a photo switch was ridiculous. So, I wouldn't contact Dean again.
