Ken actually ended up doing three projects for us instead of one. He built our 16 by 12' deck, replaced the stair case from our upper to the lower deck he built so they matched and were up to code, and rebuilt a deck/entrance to our front entrance. Ken represented not one but two companies that had composite decking material unlike the three other bidders that had only one company they represented. Ken pleasantly surprised us all once the job was done. The decks and stairs all turned out better than we hoped for and he even put a bonus handrail on the stairway for the my kids who are 2 and 6. Ken's bid was also significantly lower than the other three which makes you skeptical but the quality of his work definitely tells you that he isn't cutting corners. I have already recommended him to two neighbors that were very impressed. Thanks Ken!

Be sure to have him show you photos of the deck he built for us. Our new deck for our Queen Anne home was done in Brazilian Ipe ("iron-wood") which, after staining, was so bueatiful that the usual comments we get from friends are neighbors are along the lines of "wow, this looks like the surface of a yacht deck". Absolutely flawless execution. This guy is no fly-by-night contractor...he is a real discovery for anyone looking for attention to detail. 100% perfect!

My deck was fairly small and Ken was the lowest bid, although that is not why I hired him. Because he was the lowest bid I was unnecessarily concerned, and thought he might try to "cut a few corners". The project was the best experience I"ve had with contracted work. Ken obviously knows decks and delivered more then what I expected. The project started and completed right on schedule. I can"t say enough good things about Ken and would recommend him to anyone thinking about a new deck.
