"My side: Yes he has paid me $9280.00 He failed to mention the extra work he added, Raise washer and dryer 7 inches, build shelf above washer and dryer repair wall and install 2 cabinets above, add 3 can lights and heater, instead of one wall to add closet we added a complete closet in another room and added door at water heater access, install 8 in clab boards on 2 1/2 walls. This work is 100 % done all extra work, out of original contract all that is left is flooring and install switches and plugs, there is a $1680.00 balance. He says the job is 60 % done, all extras are done, I say 95% done. He is suing me for $2500.00. All the lawyer could find was the fact I used e-mail for quote and agreed price, and he is stating California codes, nothing about the workmanship, work schedule or design. No more e-mail agreements, contracts and change orders only, a shame a hand shake does not work anymore. They have only one bathroom, so they arranged to use a rental house down the street for showers, that expired, so I arranged 4 nights at Harrahs casino they could use and offered a shower we had finished at another job on Kiowa. (owners permission) Lisa his wife wrote a comment on " Nextdoor" saying that on my other job on Kiowa I had people living there, she saw a blow up bed there, which the owner had put when they come up, and she said we were stealing from them, not sure where that came from, We just spent all day yesterday with owners setting up furniture etc, and they are very happy with work. Nothing was missing. She is misinformed and lying.I met with Will on Monday and everything was fine, told him if arranged floor man did not show up I would send the floor man I am using at Kiowa on Thursday to go on Friday. I had an appointment with his wife on Wed 8 am The night before the VA called and reminded me of my appointment on wed, (I forgot) so I called his wife on Wednesday, am and cancelled appointment and would come on Thursday, Will saw me driving on the street in Tahoe Wednesday, am and assumed I lied to them (I had to be in Reno VA at 10:30) but had to go to Tahoe first with material. He made an abrupt u turn drove up behind me tooting horn, flashing lights etc, I pulled over. He was very upset, called me a liar, said I had no appointment it takes 2 weeks etc. He was screaming, when I saw him clinch his fists and step toward truck I sped off (you would also) He then proceeded to chase me through town, stopping in front of me, swerving into my lane, and at one point blocked intersection attempting to block my exit, I drove around, I have all of this on dash cam. The guy should go to anger management, well that is my story and I am sticking to it You decide what you would have done and form your own decision as to hiring me or not.Dennis H.
