Derby City Handy Crew

We hired this company to complete a deck project based on a recommendation from Home advisor September 1st, 2021. We paid $3000 up front for supplies and materials only on September 9th. During that time, Cole Whitmore either showed up on his own or with one other person. He spent most of his time trying to find people to work than on the job. He had multiple stories of why he couldnâ t get his act together. They were extremely slow and then became unresponsive all together between the weeks of the 13th and the 20th. When we finally heard from him, he stated that his truck wouldnâ t start and he threw and broke his phone. At this point, we had decided to move on to another contractor and asked Cole to pay back half of our deposit when he came back to get his tools. He did bring us a check for $1500 that we have not been able to cash because he has no money in the account. He has now once again become unresponsive and we want our money that is owed back to us. We have a copy of the invoice that stated only for materials and no labor and no materials were purchased. Please do the right thing, you stole money from us.
