"It is accurate that we used the correct names for parts required to render the repairs on our estimate and invoice. It is not accurate that we charged him an additional 200.00 for the original work. What the customer fails to include here is that the motor to their in-floor cleaning system went out and they wanted it replaced to remain in compliance with their pending real estate closing on the property, so we extended cost to them. Also, the repair for which we quoted 1200.00 and he claims he had completed for 195.00, required the problem being brought into code compliance and required the service of a licensed plumber. The issue and scope of work is as flows: The issue: Swimming pool auto leveler was not working. Required Corrective Measure: Jackhammering up the swimming pool deck to expose the current water supply line so it could be cut out and cut back to make room for a new water supply line to be tied in. The existing line then had to be capped off. A trench for the new water supply line then had to be dug back to the water source; the then pipe laid and tied in. A vac lock breaker was also required to be installed in order to prevent cross contamination of the drinking water by non-potable water. The State of Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Rules require a vac lock breaker or backflow prevention device to be installed by a licensed plumber. The deck then needed repaired, retextured and repainted. It also bears mention, that the customer provided documentation to us showing he had been made aware of this fact by another company, so to insinuate he did not comprehend his estimate is disingenuous at best."
