Our garage door would not close and we saw the spring dangling down. We had Discount Garage Door come out and the repairman took advantage of our lack of knowledge as first-time homeowners and SCAMMED us out of nearly $1800 for unnecessary and overpriced replacements which they charged for UP FRONT before even doing the work. After talking to many other people, this cost is FAR outside the norm, and for this price many people get brand new doors installed! They claim they gave us 5 or 6 quotes to choose from, but they were given verbally and were not adequately explained, otherwise we never would have agreed. We even asked for his recommendation of which option to pick given that we just need it to be minimally functional as we rarely use that detached garage and will be moving and selling in less than a year, and he decided to upsell us on the 1800 option to replace a bunch of other parts we did not need. It was not until after we signed and paid that we were sent the actual quotes. Upon reviewing the email, we see that the main 3 the man was talking about were the ones for roughly 1200, 1800, and 1900 (all outrageous). At the time, we did not even know reattaching it for $300 was a viable option. He even considered it to be a good option according to the quote title in the email. Yet the repairman did not present it as such. He told us he had to order the special springs and would come back, but that he could put on temporary springs in the meantime until they arrive. To us, temporary implied loaner springs that he would be taking back when our new ones arrived. We discovered part of the reason the quotes were so high is that he never told us we would be BUYING these temporary springs for $300, which is charged on ALL of his quoted options. Why would we buy $300 of springs that are not even compatible with our garage? That we already told him we use not even once a month!! Other insane charges are $650 for the special springs and $300 for a chair rail. They will claim it is because we have a 10ft garage instead of 8ft, but these prices are egregious. After numerous people told us we had been massively ripped off, I called them to cancel the job since they had not come to complete it yet. I spoke to the manager, Anna, and she was unwilling to do anything to resolve this issue.

All our dealings with DGD were great- from the initial phone call to set up an appointment to the actual installation. Our garage door opener would only work sporadically and since it was over 30 years old it was time for a new one. The technician, Robert, was a very personable young man who knows his job very well. He replaced our garage door opener and we are very pleased with his work. Robert was thorough and completed the installation in a very expeditious manner. We would definitely use DGD again and would happily have Robert do the work.

Had lifestyle garage door installed last year,entrance door came off track,called to have repaired took less than 5 seconds for them to put back on track charged $65 asked manager if she could waive fee,she said no ,because of gas prices and other costs,poor sportsmanship,customer spent over $1600 and you could not waive a $65 dollar fee,that took less than a minute to repair,seems to me ,you could have waive a good customer fee,next time have installers explain what to do if door comes off track,so your future customers won't have to pay a $65 fee,as soon as warranty up.WOW...want be back..

The Tech, Nico, was very professional and courteous. His knowledge and demeanor made me feel very comfortable and assured that the repair would be done properly. Nico went the extra mile to satisfy me. It was certainly a pleasure dealing with him. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. I highly recommend DGD.

A tad expensive, but sometimes you have to pay to get the best. The two service reps I dealt with were first rate! Garage doors and openers are no longer a luxury! Check their website for discount coupons. Highly recommended!

Aleck was very professional and gave me a estimate. It was early evening and he promptly finished the job. Very personable, gave me a estimate for a new garage opener. I will be having it installed soon and will request Aleck as my tech. I can see why the review rating is so high for DGD. Highly recommend.

I saw a DGD truck in a strip mall and the driver, Ramon Rodriguez, was just getting in the truck, I asked him about how much a single new garage door would run and he gave me a figure i liked. I called his main office and asked for Ramone. He came to the house and gave me a through walk through of what the company would install. I would need all new door spring and runners for only 1120.00. BINGO I told him yes and we signed. The installer (ERIC) was here in two days and completed the installation in 4 hours. Eric and Ramon are a credit to their company and I give them all 5 stars. I would recommend them to all my neighbors and friends.

Tyler was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He obviously knows what he is doing. He was also prompt which is always appreciated.

Robert arrived on time and was awesome. Explained everything and even taught us a few things. Very congenial & efficient. Great experience.

The sales rep went over multiple options and discussed the difference between each so that we did not get more than our needs. He was efficient and the appointment lasted only a short time. The door was special order and customer service was top notch and willing to change the delivery/install to our schedule. They showed up on time and finished quickly. The door is so quiet, I can't hear it opening from inside the house. Will use them again if ever an issue with my garage doors in the future.

I am 60 years of age and doing business with this company is the worst experience i have ever had in my entire life. I would not recommend them or do any more business with them. They offer you a warranty and if you have to claim they tell you its act of God to dismiss your case. My DGD garage opener is still in my position after it failed in few weeks because of faulty wiring they claimed it was an act of God and dismissed me.

Service tech Trey was wonderful. On time and honest review of trouble shooting repair.

It was expensive, but I think everything with Garage doors would be. The technician was great though - he worked hard, he worked fast, and he explained things thoroughly. They were great.

Jacob was very professional, it was a difficult job because of the age of the home. He made it work and look good too. I would recommend this company and Jacob in particular.

Trey Smith was our tech. He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything, I wanted a new door he told me I did not need a new door saved me 2000.00 dollars he rebuilt my door instead and new opener and springs complete rebuild. He could have sold me the new door but they are not out to RIP you off. This company is fantastic and the tech Trey was fabulous. He is a great asset to this company. Highly recommend this company to everyone...
