I am happy to welcome Home Advisor customers to our customer family with a special discount. Since 1968 we have worked to bring beauty, elegance, form and function to thousands of customers. We design and build or install patios, walkways, retaining walls, plantings and trees, drain systems, stone work, and other things. We do projects both great and small. They are all important to you. We refurbish existing decks, patios, and landscapes. We do driveway sealing that the gypsy's cannot match in quality. We also consult for the homeowner who wants to invest "sweat equity." I have a special program to help with your planting projects that you install. Dixon's work went beyond our expectations. They had 2 weeks of work to perform and his crew was on time everyday, working hard everyday, and completing the job on time. My wife and I are very happy with the job that was done in our yard. We highly recommend Dixon and his team. Joe & Page

Mr. Teter first appeared to be a trustworthy professional and gave me trust to work with him at his initial contacts and chat. He apparently knows well about what he is doing. I think I still have trust on his work quality. However, his attitude deserves scrutiny. Let me quote from my recent email to him asking him to fix his work as my review. See below. The email was sent to him on July 30th and I have never heard from him. Before the email, I also had texted him two time and email once, on same request and all non response. -- Hi Dixon, I am writing this to you to express my disappointment at your side commitment of the work you had claimed done to which you were fully paid on the same date you sent below message based on my assumed trust on you ($2000 deposit was paid the day before: July 22 following your direction). On July 22, you stood in my driveway told me your work will have water containment taken care of and you actually told me precisely why the water would get stuck in the ditch and the purpose of the ditch by the street side and exactly how you would do your brick work even with precise topology described. Based on which I gave you full trust and trusted that the project was in a good hand. I am still having trust on you even if you have not been professionally responsive to your un-finished project but with a full payment in hands. On July 23, the same day your group left the work and after I paid you in full, I sent, through text messages, you a couple of photos showing the containment of water in the brick surface at the original ditch area, while we were trying to clean the dirt on the surface we saw it. You responded you ;we will adjust tomorrow; in text. Hence I expected that you will send your people back to fix it on July 24. On July 24 by 3:05pm you sent a text Tied up with extra work on todays site - will get tomorrow ...; However, nothing from you on July 25, not even a message saying further delay. Giving you my trust, until the night of July 26 by 8:17pm, I texted you asking whether you are still on your words. You replied at 7:02AM July 27 (Saturday) .... We adjusted grade yesterday for whole left side; However I had been at home at all times on Friday, except for a brief outgoing in early afternoon for a bank visit at Painters Crossing taken about 30 minutes round trip (only 3 miles away from my door), I did not see anyone came to do anything. With such question in mind, I used water hose to pour some water to the same spot and the water soon piled up. I then send you a photo via text showing you the existing problem. Since then you have stopped respond regardless. My neighbor was with me in lunch on Saturday. When I showed the water photo, he also told me that he did not see anyone coming on Friday working on my driveway It would take some time to make it adjusted, not something in 30 minutes. quote my neighbors remark. Also some joggling neighbors teased the water pond; and expressed surprise at the ;finished and corrected; work. Dixon, I spent such time writing you with hope that you would commit on your responsibilities to deliver a work that was explained before your work and that was fully paid without any time delay. Hopefully I would hear back from you within 24-hours of this email and your arrangement. After that, I will pursue alternative resolution. Thanks. Carl p.s. You have my photos in your phone so you knew what was wrong. I will keep the record there, in case you deleted them, not attaching them here again. Below Text message was sent to Dixon Teter at 8:49PM on August 6, 2019: Hi Dixon, It's absolutely disappointing not to hear a single word regarding my messages, emails, and photos. In the last 10 days or so, we have tried very hard to water the piece of lawn that you guys re-seed after your work. Unfortunately your people had blew the sand, lime, and the waste into that area hence no matter how hard we ....
Response by Dixon Teter: I wrote to Home Advisor: Dear Home Advisor, This customer has been posting reviews recently that are nothing more than malicious libelous lies. I demand that those reviews be immediately removed and that any further input from that customer be blocked. Among the things he states is that I demanded immediate payment. My contract terms, which he agreed to and signed, are Balance due on day of completion. Any contractor is entitled to ask for payment upon completion, which we did namely, complete the job: which was to remove the blacktop at his driveway entrance that had decayed and collapsed and replace using E.P. Henry pavers. He also said that he was moving to California in a week or so another great and entirely reasonable reason to get paid immediately before he left town forever. He states that the area has standing water. And, like a bratty 3 year old, he says that he stands there with a hose making puddles. That is a lie as well. Proof of that is in in the picture I enclosed to Home Advisor which they will not post. E-mail me at dixontXXXX and I will send any photo to you. The picture showed as described: "last night (as with the night before) we had up to an inch of rain in a massive downpour. Very early the next morning I drove45 minutes and took the picture. As evidence of the rain you can see standing water on his blacktop area, an area we did not work on as it was not his concern. You can also see little puddle bits on the street. What you DO NOT see is water on our paver area! He finds fault with the grading and seeding we did to either side of the area. What you see in the picture is that where we regraded and seeded the sides of the paver entrance grass have begun to germinate. What he does not mention, and I did not take a picture of this, is that for free we regraded a major puddle area in the center of his yard while we were there. After the rain there was not only no puddle on the paver area there was also no puddle in the center of the yard and again the grass has begun to grow. Home Advisor will neither remove his libelous comments nor allow posting pictures. I am more than happy to send a copy of this photographic proof to any customer that asks. Please send requests to me at dixontXXXX In my 51 years as a landscape designer and contractor I have never encountered such lies defaming my reputation. I will not stand idly by while he lies and destroys my excellent ratings on Home Advisor of which I have been a member in good standing since way before when you were Service Magic. I have served over 10,000 customers since I started my business in 1968 and many many return time and again for more work. Just this week two customer from 8 and 10 years ago contacted me and have now contracted with me for new work. Last week it was a customer from 2 years ago signing up for another major phase of their landscaping. Always great to see old customers returning! And yes, it is inevitable that there be some bad apples; and yes, we are not perfect; but we do fix things so this is among the worst I have encountered. We went above and beyond for this customer because he insisted ? begged to have this done immediately since he was moving to California. He told me that he will be renting the property out but not coming back. My schedule is posted on my web site and we are booked 2 months. I told him that I do not let customers ?butt in line? so he would have to wait. But then my amazing and sterling crew finished a larger longer project a day early so I contacted him and said that instead of pulling another up I would insert him. I made a special trip to meet him and get paperwork signed and lay it out so I could get materials delivered and get his urgent project completed. We did that. Almost immediately he started complaining about puddles. I came out and looked and saw none and no evidence that there had been oneo

We just moved out of the home where he did landscaping work and to this day, the plants and structures he built are still in tact, plants are healthy and everything was in great condition. Good quality materials installed by a skilled professional! Thank you, Mr. Teter!

Dixon and his team did an excellent job. Satisfied with the work they did installing pavers in my backyard. Very neat and clean from start to finish. Would recommend these guys to anyone looking to having pavers installed.

Overall very disatisfied with condition of lawn after all equipment and supplies were removed. Cleanup was disappointing. Will not know how plants and lawn will look until next spring. Also see my review of 4/21/17 concerning lawn service for $495.00 on 10/26/16 which produced a lawn this spring (4/12/17) of weeds and bare patches throughout. (My review of 4/21/17 explains how complaint was handled by Mr. Dixon Teter)
Response by Dixon Teter: I have explained to every customer wanting to improve their lawns since 1968 that building a lawn from seed is a process that takes time. I explain that in a sod farm under ideal professional management that process takes 18-24 months and that in a homeowner situation that takes 24-30 months. During that time a well managed lawn will be steadily improving. I explain that I do not do lawn services just installations but I always say that I am happy to advise as to how to care for the lawn at no charge or that the customer contact a lawn maintenance service. This customer's very small lawn was thatch raked and seeded with perennial ryegrass seed and fertilized, as was specified in her contract. That was done last October. At that time of year weed killing is not recommended since weeds are going dormant or dying off for the year at that time anyway. And applying weed killer means that you cannot apply seed. She did no watering. Two weeks ago, in mid-April, she called complaining that her lawn was not doing well. I reminded her of the fact that building a lawn was a process and when she vehemently complained I said that I would rake over and apply new seed at no charge. She complained of weeds. I explained that I could either kill weeds or seed not both and that a light over seeding was the proper procedure and that she should do weed killing in a month. At is time in the season I had 40 customers already scheduled. She called 3 more times actually threatening me! She demanded that I put aside all the customers who had already arranged for projects (large and small) long before she called. She loudly threatened several times that she would write a bad review. A couple of days later I had two men rake and seed again at no charge. She called immediately - not to thank me for doing what I promised but to complain that we did that too quickly! She further astounded me by asking if she had to water the newly seeded lawn! As I did previously, and as I do for every customer for plants or lawns, I gave her detailed watering instructions via e-mail. My thanks for doing that free follow up work for free is this rather ill-informed review. What this woman really wants is a sodded area with no care required. Sod was not in her budget. No care is of course impossible. As is her whole attitude and manner of dealing with anyone. If contacted I will go into more detail - I would not want another contractor to experience her terrible behavior. She actually promised not only a bad review but that she would go back and comment on any comments that I might make!
