I have been dealing with this issue since Dec. 2020. I paid a deposit for work to be done and but no work has been started.

Not returning phone calls. Not showing up. I hired D.J. Roofing & Construction to do flooring and painting. Work is inadequate, bad quality. The people are hard to get in touch with. Gave them a deposit and no work has been done since end of December 2020.

We hired them to repair a roof and bedroom damaged by a fallen tree They did not have a contractor license as required by the state of Arkansas. They did not acquire a building permit as required by the city of Ft. Smith. At the end of the 30-day contract, less than half the job was completed. Paid them $8,000 of $12,000. They were supposed to purchase more than $1,000 worth of materials. We only saw a few hundred dollars worth and told us the rest was taken from the construction site. We paid a carpenter to place a tarp over the damaged bedroom. While working on the project, DJ Roofing and Construction left the tarp off. Rain damaged the hardwood floors, which they will not pay for. We hired another carpenter, who told us they would have to redo the roofing joists since they were not done properly.

Took my money for materials and did not return to even start the job. Lots of texts saying he will be here on this day, then that day, and would not show up. Plenty of excuses. No returned calls. Have asked him to either refund my money or drop off materials, he wonâ t do either. Do not use, period. Thief. Fraud. Hopefully, the authorities will put a stop to this activity from this company.

Do not use them because they are dishonest and they are not reliable. I initially hired them to install a dish washer-- ie. remove the old one and install a new one. They did more damage to my property than they fixed. They cut the water line behind the sheet rock and when they put in the dishwasher , water sprayed everywhere. I have sheet rock holes cut out of walls. I have wires that had been buried behind the sheet rock. I have gone without hot and cold water for a week now, because they damaged the pipes causing water leaks, and more damage to the drywall. They ended up installing a Tankless water heater and used an extension cord for power ,instead of installing it properly. They promised this unit would replace my 40 gallon tank, but I came to find out it was only good for small amount of water for a small sink. All in all, it will end up costing me four times their bid to fix the problems they caused.
