Donnie's Home Services

Donnie was paid $30,000.00 to do remodeling work. I had to call them over and over to get them to the worksite. This project started in or around July 2017 and I was told that he would be finished by November. Today is 9/07/2018 and still not completed. Donnie and his crew walked off the job and never to heard of again. Will not return text or phone calls. Assured me he could get things done without a problem. I have had to spend several thousands of dollars to replace the poor work his company did. He is a smooth talker and will promise the world but will deliver very little.

I hired Donnies Home Service to remove debris from a home I purchased in Rocky Mount. They did a good job on the inside of the home removing what I asked to be removed, but the outside was marginal. There were branches left on the roof of the home and the debris in the yard was not done to my expectations.

Customer service could have been better but I was very pleased once the project was completed. They even went over and beyond by doing requested work that wasn't included in the price.

Timely service , knowledgeable regarding tree growth and provided great landscaping tips.

The job was finished and they left without cleaning up and now my home is a mess they also damage my property and blame the neighbor

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Customer service is not their strong point. Neither is consideration of the client or the property. The only good thing I can say about this company is that some of the actual workers and subcontractors were nice and worked hard. I hired Donnie's Home Services to convert a porch into a bathroom for my wheelchair-bound mother. When my mother asked Donnie directly if he had ever done such work for a person with her disability, he said he had. That does not appear to be a true statement based on everything that occurred. There were so many re-works. The first re-work occurred a few days into the job. Donnie showed us a design plan before the job started that he immediately changed upon starting the work, without discussing with us in advance. Then he had his workers build walls, even after being advised to use boxes to map out the floor plan before continuing to build. I had to come to the location (over an hour away) multiple times because the workers were doing what he told them to do instead of listening to the concerns of the person in the wheelchair. I engaged his workers in the boxing exercise needed to ensure the space would work for her and stop further rebuilds of the floor plan. The siding was originally installed without moisture barriers underneath. The site failed inspections on many occasions. We are thankful to the City for holding them to the Code and requiring re-works of several stages. Donnie would come to the site, but never keep record of the items discussed. He would confirm something and not follow through or recall the details of the discussion. I finally had to resort to sending detailed emails confirming the items discussed. On multiple occasions, no one would return phone calls or respond to emails. Apparently, he thought it was ok not to respond, as long as his workers randomly showed up with his instructions (right or wrong) to complete some task. They had no regard for anyone else's time. Most days, there was no call to advise they were not coming for the day, even when asked to communicate and being provided with multiple means of communicating. Despite committing to a deadline for completion when originally receiving the project, they missed the deadline on 3 different occasions. Even when deadlines were approaching, he would not communicate in advance. He just continued to send workers past the date. The project was originally slated to be completed mid-Nov 2016. On Jan 31, 2017, they rushed to finish the project with no more extensions. On Feb 24th, they still had not completed the punch list of items when my mother banned them from her home. She was tired of the disrespect of her home. During the project, they had tracked dust throughout the house on her hardwood floors. They had not taken the time to cover anything in her home when they removed a portion of a wall, leaving dust everywhere. One of the workers would clean dirty items in the tub of the existing bathroom

I will want others to know that job was well done and I would recommend them to others

Was very fair in pricing compared to others that I called. Great work. Cleaned up after the job was complete.

Does good work

They showed up when they said but thats the good part. They cut the tree down and it hit my shed. I just wanted it on the ground so I could cut it up for firewood. The reason I hired them was because I didn't want to hit the shed. The tree tore off the boxing on the back of the shed and damaged the roof. He said he would be back the next week to repair it. They cut the tree down on Dec 31st, it is now Jan.18th and I've neither seen nor heard from them since the 31st. Although I offered to pay he said he would fix my shed and then we would settle up. Now I've got to fix my shed or hire somebody else to fix it. I'm probably going fix it myself so I don't have to worry about somebody else not doing what they said they were going to do. I know everybody makes mistakes but when you do make it right and don't half butt a job. That is not the way to run any business at all. I don't recommend them for any tree removal job.

They did an awesome job... they had the roof off and the new roof on in 8 hrs.

Punctual, hard workers (despite the interruption of Hurricane Matthew). They repaired my garage door frame, replaced my mailbox, and painted my garage floor with epoxy paint. Am very pleased with the results. Would hire again.

Very professional, performed all the work exactly as discussed. Left the property very neat and clean, were very conscientious of the horses on the property. Extremely satisfied and would definitely recommend them and would use them again for future projects.
