We hired Dorman Electric to change bulbs in some track lights that are very high up (requiring a 25 foot ladder). They did an excellent -- careful and conscientious - job.

I smelled a burning from my light and called. They immediately made time in their schedule that day and advised me what to do before they got to my home. After they looked at it it was determined there was no electrical danger and the wiring was fine. However, they were able to still replace my light for me quickly per my request. I recommend them and appreciate their quick response on what could have been a scary situation!

So, this is going to be lengthy, but useful information to both consumers and hopefully the business. The electrician and his girlfriend were very nice. I have no problem with them at all. But I hired the electrician to splice and drop a three switch bundle about 4 feet over a ceiling from the attic and 4 feet down a wall to a three switch box, 8 feet total. I also hired him to replace an outdoor outlet with a GFCI outlet. They arrived around 3 o clock to complete a 2.5 hour job. When I arrived home from work around 6pm we still had bare wires sticking out of the wall, and no gfci installed. I very frustratingly told the girl this is not acceptable, and he needs to finish this job quickly. The electrician came down from the attic and I told him I m not paying for more than 3 hours plus the items he had to purchase because I didn t buy the right items for the job. We agreed to this and he got back to work. During this time, I also find out that the girlfriend has a fear of dogs, which explains why our two dogs have been outside since 3pm and are whining and wanting to be back in the house at 630. I gave the girl a piece of sound business practice, and said to her: you can t go into a customers house and make them punish their dogs by locking them in a room or keeping them outside for extended periods of time because you have a fear of dogs. I m not diminishing her fear, but that s bad business. You should ask while you have the customer on the phone, do you have dogs, can they be kept in another part of the house while the work is being done. Or better yet, you don t go to the job site if there are dogs involved. Had she asked, I would have said no, they can t, and hired someone else. Thirdly, the work. By the time he left around 830-ish, I had two of three switches working, a gfci outlet replaced, but an outlet that was working before they got there not working after he was there. Do what you will with this information.

I was told the project to install 5 new LED fixtures would not take long. The first day, beginning at 9:15 and going beyond 5:30, they installed 4 of the five fixtures. I was told the third fixture for the garage was incorrect (too large for the frame). Turned out the light fixture was the same as the other two, the problem was he had mounted the frame so that it was not square. Once he came back, the fixture was correctly installed in a relatively short time. He did rewire a three-way switch for me at no charge. I was quoted one price for the job and then had to pay more for boxes and wire ($50) that was unexpected. Once installed, everything worked fine. Pleasant to work with and had done a good job when everything was said and completed. It think it was a somewhat complicated job. Would recommend.

You (I) sent them to the wrong address. I must have missed something on the questionnaire. But after the confusion and at about 9.30 last night they made it, and finished the job this AM. Good work on their part. Yes, if all goes well, I would hire them again.
