Joe and the team at Down Under Construction are a first rate company-honest, on-time, meet deadlines and do what they say with professional results. Their crew and Johnny are great. They remodeled my MBR Bathroom- new shower, tile, drywall,-the whole deal to completion and turned out great! Highly recommend them!

They replaced a part of my driveway that was being lifted by tree root. Estimate was timely, professional and the work was done efficiently. Met my time constraints and communication with everyone was productive. End result looks great.

They replaced a beam in my attic that had been damaged by termites, repaired the structure of my garage wall framing which had also been damaged by termites and replaced the ceiling and drywall. All of the contractors were master craftsmen who were professional and highly skilled and courteous. They even built a wall of framing and plastic with zippers so that I could get to my kitchen and living room. This kept the dust from getting into the rest of the house and allowed me to live there during the construction work. It was very convenient for me and was something that did not have to be done. Everyone was courteous and polite and it was the lowest bid because the owner gave me the options for replacing the entire ceiling or just a section. I chose a section for cost reasons and when they finished you could not tell that only a section was replaced. Joe stood out over the other 3 contractors that bid and was actually the only one that seemed to know what he was doing. They did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them.

My husband and I needed to have some handicapped assist bars installed at a vacation rental that we own. For liability reasons, we needed to have a licensed contractor do this work. Most licensed contractors would not be willing to deal with such a small job, but Down Under Construction not only was willing to do the work, but sent someone over in a relatively short time period. The work was done well, and we are really grateful for their help. We then asked them to do another small project at another rental place that we own. This one involved redoing the installation of some outdoor carpeting. We were not there when they did the work, but were pleased to find it done beautifully when we returned. Although we have so far needed Down Under Construction only for small projects, we would certainly be comfortable in asking them for bids on larger projects, if and when we need that help. My experience is that if a licensed contractor is willing to do good work on small projects, they will likely do well on bigger ones! In addition, the helpfulness and professionalism of the office staff were outstanding.

Time was an issue for installation of the deck. I was working around a roof replacement. They assured me that all product was in stock and they could begin right away. They got the deck framed out and then told me not only was some of the product NOT in stock, it was on BACKORDER. I believe I was intentionally misled so that they could start and they hoped they could find another source for the decking. They did use the decking that was available to make the deck look finished until the trim came in. We also had a pretty major issue with something I now know is called skirt board. I wanted a complete composite deck. As the build was in progress I learned that they intended to leave the vertical surface bare, pressure treated wood. The owner never asked if this was something I wanted when he was bidding and I had no idea skirt board was a "thing", let alone that I would need to request it separately. That turned into a several hundred dollar addition or he would've just left it pressure treated. On the bright side, Johnny and Lawson that actually came out and did the work were awesome!

Highly professional, they show up on time, get the job done and clean up afterwards. I especially appreciate being "moved up" on their schedule when they had another project put on hold. They estimated two days and were done in a day and a half. They asked us to inspect their work and make sure we were happy before leaving.

John and Sam were truly wonderful. Insights offered as we moved through each of the various projects elevated the results to a level greater than our expectation. I felt like rather than showing up and doing the outlined job, they offered creative insight and options which proved far superior to our ideas. Excellent workmanship. True craftsmen.

DUCs owner Joe, paid us a personal visit to capture our initial framing and structural requirements (remove two load bearing walls and install supporting load beams and supporting ground pads, dining room arch way, and a new powder room), which breathed new life and an opened concept for an old 1924 house in need of some TLC. Joe and DUCs team is truly accommodating: showcased their professionalism, patience, and experience. They take pride in their workmanship, evidence by the quality they delivered to include clean up and the positive feedback from my wife who grew up in this house. We are grateful as many construction companies never called us back when we requested estimates. As for the budget: Joe is a man of his word, earned my respect, DUCs did not charge us one cent over original budget in spite having to navigate through several complex architectural design and city of St Petersburg permit problems that surfaced. From loaning us his architect to guiding us throughout the project - DUCs is the best! I would highly recommend them to anyone and we plan to use them in the near future.

We interviewed over 5 contractors before choosing Joe & his team at Down Under. Our Fannie Mae 1970's condo needed a complete renovation & redesign. Joe really listened to us and made all our dreams a reality. Tracy, in the office, and John, our project manager, deserve a lot of credit too. We were out of town during the entire construction and were only able to check on the progress on weekends. There were a couple of "glitches" but Joe resolved them all to our complete satisfaction. We felt he was more than fair and was willing to make trade-offs when changes were needed. Any issues were addressed and not covered up. We couldn't ask for more. We love, love, love our condo and love the gang at Down Under Construction!!!

My walkway and landing turned out exactly like I wanted. The quality of work was excellent. The guys doing the work obviously cared about the quality of work they do. They also tiled my front porch which also turned out beautiful.

Contractor subed the job to a roofer which was OK but roofer failed to initially get a permit which caused to job the be shut down and a 2 day delay to obtain permit

The work was performed at the price quoted, on time, and the place looks fantastic. I would never hesitate to use or recommend them.
