Could not recommend DES more. We chose them after reading their stellar reviews and they didn't disappoint. Our attic had been finished without any insulation, so it was an uninhabitable sauna during the warm months, and an icebox during the cold. Chris and his team performed a free inspection and then were able to fit us in their schedule right away. The crew was polite, professional, and made sure we understood every step of the process. They were all business, getting the work done quickly and efficiently. They even insulated some areas that weren't in the initial scope of work for free, after noticing the areas needed it. We've already noticed a huge difference in the comfort of our home. So glad we went with DES over someone else.

We had the company come in to make our second floor â live-ableâ . The temperature difference between our floors was so dramatic I was dripping with perspiration in my sewing area. We called to get an assessment of the existing insulation, the circulation on the second floor and recommendations to make our home comfortable and energy efficient! After one day, I can already tell a huge difference! I am confident as we go into the hottest part of the summer the whole house will be comfortable. The utility company might be in for a big surprise, too! We canâ t recommend them enough!

We are a Museum in Springboro, Ohio. Our Building dates to 1810. We had several estimates for this work. Chris was the only contact person to personally inspect all area of the attic. Pricing was fair and considered our non profit status. Crew was effiecient, professional and courteous. Went above and beyond to make sure all areas of the old building were covered. The cleanup was great the only way we knew they were there was the reduction in our energy bills a month later.

Response from Company:
THIS IS NOT A CLIENT. In fact, despite the fact that she gave us 5 stars for customer service, we show no record of even meeting her; plus HA/Angi isn't even supposed to send us leads for rolled batts and therefore I could request that this 'review' be removed. However, I'll instead take this time to state that by and large, fiberglass batting is a blight on our energy grid and that it is true that we almost always refuse to touch the stuff as we are not in the business of doing something ineffectual just because there's a buck to be made. We will not compromise when it comes to accomplishing our client's objectives nor will I ask my team to do work with which they can't be proud. If this 'review' was really left by someone with which we met, I invite you to call us back and I'll be more than happy to discuss alternatives (but only if those alternatives deliver value).

Dr. Energy Saver of Cincinnati did a phenomenal job insulating my home! Not only was the crew polite, professional, and efficient, they also ensured I was satisfied prior to leaving. They also had really great pricing in comparison to competitors. Would highly recommend Dr. Energy Saver of Cincinnati!

Iâ m incredibly thankful to Chris Shepard and DES for drastically improving my living situation. My home is drastically more comfortable, my energy bills are lower, and the value of my home has increased in a way thatâ s more durable than a new appliance or a few new windows. As a relatively new homeowner, I also feel that I have a much better understanding of how conditioned air moves throughout my house and what to look for when examining the insulation/ductwork/etc in a future home. If you shop around like I did, you will find some lower quotes and different materials. But in my opinion, this is the only way to go if you want results, and if you want to work with a professional company that can guarantee quality service. My house is a 1940s Cape Cod, with a 2nd story that was unlivable in the summer/winter. With only one supply vent, no air return, and (more importantly) old useless fiberglass from its original construction, the temperature mimicked outdoor temps and allowed conditioned air from the lower level to escape as well. My energy bills were incredibly high, and the usable sq footage of the home was limited to the 1st floor. After I requested a quote, Chris walked me through the entire house, listened to my concerns, verified why I was having the problems, and explained every potential solution in detail. Within 24 hrs I had received a similarly detailed proposal outlining the work needed and the associated costs. Had I not moved forward with the proposal, I still probably would have come out ahead, as I basically got a free lesson on thermal envelopes and how air moves throughout a home. Luckily I did move forward, and they were able to schedule the service within only a few weeks (and right before winter hit). When Chris and the team showed up, they were friendly, professional, and they covered furniture where necessary to prevent a mess. All of the old fiberglass was replaced with spray foam behind the kneewalls/under the roof, and cellulose was dense-packed in the vaults/attic space where access prevented spray foam from being practical. They redirected the existing supply duct to create a 2nd vent, and added an air return to allow better temperature consistency/airflow in the summer months. They also added spray foam around the entire rim joist in the basement, and applied blown-in cellulose in the attic space above a back addition on the 1st story. Before and during the process, they took time to explain their progress and ask questions about my preferences (for example, how invasive to be when they needed to drill into drywall/wood paneling). When they were finished, they took the time to vacuum/mop all parts of the house theyâ d accessed. After a month or so, I contacted Chris again because the 2nd story was still a few degrees colder than what Iâ d expected. When he came out the 2nd time, he found and fixed the issue (an air leak behind my thermostat, which made the furnace turn off too quickly), which brought my satisfaction with the work from 90% to 100%.

They did not fulfill original contract of wall insulation. They found out after I moved all the furniture that they could not do the walls. I was not at home ehen they discovered this. My husband oked the insulation of garage for a much higher price.I had already received 2 bids which were lower for garage. But this is not what was needed. The rooms are still cold. 2700 wasted. Not at all happy. Will never use your service again
Response from Company:
Summary: She said it herself - without prompting, her husband told us to change the scope of the work and she is mad at him but for some reason has chosen to take it out on us. The full story: She insisted we do the walls above the garage and did not even allow us the chance to investigate them. When our install team arrived, we drilled into a wall and found they are brick on the block (1/2 inch wall cavity that cannot be insulated). When we told the client that and were about to leave, her husband asked us to insulate the floor space between the garage and the conditioned space above instead (which is what we would have recommended had she not insisted on the walls; oh, and the 2 other bids she mentions were insulating the walls of the garage - also not what we would have recommended). So we waited around while he tried 3 times to confirm the change with his wife but she would not pick up, so after about an hour of waiting around, he told us to go ahead and do it. Upon her return, she had, well...A bit of a fit. We felt so bad for her husband that we offered even more discounts and suggested she not pay us until she validates that the solution works. She refused and instead, she paid in full and left us this completely unjust review (we did what the client asked us to do - were we supposed to look her husband in the eye and say NO?!?). Oh, and applying this solution versus insulating the walls took twice the amount of materials and labor and we only charged them (a heavily discounted) 20% more. NOTE: She left the review the next day - well before the insulation could have even had an impact (cold insulation going into a cold cavity would take 48-72 hours to acclimate). I assume she is not returning our messages offering to come out and investigate because it is working fine now and she is just embarrassed (her husband was apologetic and old told us he was pleased with our work and extra consideration). I do wish you both a comfortable winter.
