Angel and his team are wonderful! They work hard and the results are great! They are very reasonably priced, and Angel's communication throughout the process is fantastic.

I would hire them again. Everything was done as promised and on time. Angel will be my go-to guy for concrete from now on.

I highly recommend Angel and his company! I knew nothing about concrete floors and he educated me on the process, gave me options, worked within my budget and his crew were very respectful and nice. Our garage floor had holes and cracks and was 40 years old. It is beautiful now, thank you Angel and Dry Bottoms Masonry!!!

Concrete Patios, Walks & Steps Installation
$9,500
This project was a nightmare. And worst of all the owner takes no responsibility for mistakes he has made. A $9500 concrete patio, 4 months later has cracked concrete halfway through the project already (and yep, it is jumping right through the cut lines, which he claimed would not happen!) He washed his hands of it and refused to help since he has gotten paid! I brought in another concrete contractor who said that there needed to be a 4 inch crushed stone base layer and rebar below our grill/island as well as more cut lines. During the process, I questioned him on these things and he talked like he knew what he was doing he claimed that the base of breaking up old concrete, was just as good as crushed stone - which very little crushed stone was used, compared to the size of the project. Broken up concrete - does not allow proper drainage like he claimed it did. I questioned doing rebar underneath the whole patio since we were putting in a gas fire pit and grill/island - which was sitting in our yard and no secret. He claimed the wire mesh was strong enough to hold a car on the patio and it will last us another 40 years But turns out he blamed it all on us for having a gas line put in. (It did not even shoot in at the point of the crack, it shot in at the long end) I let go of the fact that the finish looked awful, and chalky - which the concrete is supposed to be a mocha brown since they sealed it when it was still wet and snowed an hour later (this was the fault of the manufacturer) or the siding that had concrete all over it and the edging that was not finished nicely against the house (this was the fault of an employee that called in on the day of the job) and took me weeks to scrub the concrete off the siding, not too mention the broken up concrete they did not remove that sat in our yard for 2 months In the end, we were left with a crack that continues to spread only 4 months later, and a chalky looking finish - that will take years to come off and an uneven edge against the house. And a contractor that refuses to do anything to make it right and blame us homeowners that trusted him to be the expert.

Dry Bottoms Masonry did an amazing job. They built a concrete pad for my hot tub and install pillars and a roof over it. Great price and great quality of work. I will definitely recommend them and hire them again!

They were great with giving me advise , actions and I felt they were looking out for my best interests and not their bottom line.

I don't recommend you work with Dry Bottoms Masonry, as Angel did not prove himself to be a quality craftsman or a man of his word. 1. Angel affirmed he has laid dozens of such flagstone walks as I had at my house, and which I contracted with him to rebuild. Mine was a beautiful, winding walkway that was part of a well-maintained and historically beautiful house in the city of Rochester, NY. A casual google search for flagstone walkway reveals an apparent standard approach a certain beauty is achieved through lack of symmetry, mixing stone sizes & locations. There are no hard lines in such walks. After the first week, as Angel had finished laying stone for about 25 percent of the walk, and was preparing to fix the stones in location, it became obvious that Angel lacks the design skill to make a beautiful walkway. The stones were laid such as to produce hard and clear lines. His work was amateurish. I showed him pictures of what I expected, and asked him to lay out the stones in a more asymmetric way. He complained that all of his previous clients were happy with his work, and that I was begin difficult. Thankfully, he acquiesced and changed his approach. But the relationship was strained from this point forward. 2. From the beginning of our engagement, I communicated the 1 requirement I had was that his work would last through the winters. He affirmed, over and over, how that was guaranteed. He affirmed that he would stand by his work. He finished the work mid may 2 weeks late on a 1 week project, and by end of May I reported that some of the stones were not firmly placed they rocked. Furthermore, that the filler between the stones that is supposed to bond all of the stones together, was breaking off in a few locations. His response was to wait 4-8 weeks further to see if the problem fixed itself. 45 days later, the filler was breaking off and popping out in a dozen other locations. His response was that I needed to contact the manufacturer of the filler product, as he can t be made responsible for their issues. He took no responsibility for choosing a defective product if his hypothesis is correct, or for the possibility of a mistake on his part in preparing the filler product.
Response from Dry Bottoms Masonry & Home Improvements
"I guess the part I do not understand is. You claim I do not have good craftsmanship. But the contract stated, half the money when I start and if you're not happy when I am done you do not have to pay the second half. But you paid the second half in full and said it looked great. So I guess that is the part I do not understand. like every job I took pride in my work I worked through the rain, through the cold, to get the job completed. everyone who saw it loved the job. including your kids, your wife, and your dad. But I guess you cannot please everyone, in this case, you weren't pleased, So I can live with that I pleased 9 out of 10 people."
