Two technicians came to my house to replace my defective water heater. They replaced it quickly and cleaned up afterward. Both men were friendly and courteous. They were conscientious about social distancing and mask wearing. They were even able to come do this work a full day before initially promised! The price was the same as the quote, no extra expenses, or hidden charges. If I need plumbing help in the future E.W. Tompkins will be my first call!

Gas Piping
When I set up the appointment, was not notified that I would be charged $70.00 to look at the job, he did not really know how he could preform the job to get my kitchen stove hooked up to the gas line. I received my estimate from the company, it was 3 times higher then the company that came the next day.

Shaun did a fantastic job fixing 1960's plumbing hidden behind old subway tiles. He was able to carefully remove the tiles, fix the pipes in the wall and flawlessly reglue and regrout them. Quality work. In addition, he was scrupulous about observing safety measures for Covid-19, maintaining distance, wearing a mask and booties, and screening the area where he worked. The price was fair market value; I obtained other estimates. I would highly recommend E. W. Tompkins.

Gas Piping
E.W. Tompkins provide a great service for us. We have a gas leak in one of the pipes and they just give us an appointment for the next day. They send us a picture and a phone number of the technician that came to the house and their requirements for social distancing. Angelo (the technician) was professional and provide explanations of everything that he will do to fix the problem. He pressurized the gas lines (Furnace and Water Tank) and tell us that our tank will need to be replace in the near future (something that we know). I think that my only concern or misunderstand was that he went out to Home Depot to buy a part to fix the problem. I was understanding that because those are standard plumbing sizes, they will have that in their car. However, I should say that their price was fine, even when they went out and spend some time buying the part. I will higher them again.

We had an old toilet replaced.. Technician did a great job. He was polite, answered all questions, and cleaned everything well. No complaints about the job itself or the technician. They charge you though for diagnostic, even though they knew what was the reason for the appointment., I had several emails exchanged with the office. Also, the technician did not have appropriate part, so he had to leave to get it... and yes, you get charged for the time they are gone. I was asked to write a review by the woman who scheduled the appointment, but she never responded to my emails asking her to explain the charges.

Technician was running late and called to let me know. Arrived and was able to clear the blockage within short order. He suggested replacing the cast iron trap as it was showing visible signs of stress. Was happy to have the quick lesson provided. He further explained what would be needed to complete the replacement of existing trap. Verbally quoted an amount that he said would be expensive as it would require him and a helper better part of a day to complete. No problem, requested a written estimate. Written estimate came in at almost $1000 more than the verbal amount. I have asked for an explanation since the written estimate was lacking in detail.
