Not reliable, he does not honor the contract, communication is really bad.

Beware! The project was only supposed to take 60-90 days. Over a year later, never completed. Did not comply with the contract. Leveling of the floor was horrible. I have dipped all over causing the flooring I purchased to separate. Did not install the split system as promised in the contract. Did not complete painting of exterior door and windows. Would not answer messages or phone calls. Worst experience I have had with any company.

Beware!!! Do not hire this contractor! When we first talked to Mac in October of 2021, he talked very professional, had great ideas for our project of enclosing the downstairs of our cottage. Said he had enough work with this project to carry him through the winter, was not going to take on any more projects, and he could get right on this. He quoted us a 90 day completion time so we signed a contract with him. That is when it went downhill. As of July 23 2022 he is less than half way through. Never came through with a single promise that he made. Promised in March of 2020 that we would be in by Memorial Day, so we planned a family vacation for the last week of June, didn't even have the rough in's done by then. 3 weeks before our vacation was to start, he promised to have the steps up to the front of the cottage rebuilt, but did not start them till the day before were to arrive and when we got there, the work that they did wasn't done according to the drawings that he had given us so they had to tear that out and start again and did not finish till 3 days later so we had to use the back steps that went in through a bedroom, not to mention that my wife and I had to stay at a friends cottage the whole week so that we had enough room for our kids. He rushed to get the framing done so that he could get another draw, which caused problems because he did not pull down the old underpinning under the cottage so the plywood is between the new walls and the floor joists above. Now he will not answer his phone, return a text or email. We finally parted ways with him this week and are going to finish the job ourselves, 9 months after this 90 day project started. We have lost a lot of money because we do not feel we got the $37,000 that we paid him in work, since his people only worked about 2 days a month here, but we are going to lick our wounds and move on. I just hope this keeps someone else from losing money. I finally did talk to him this week and told him I was through with him and moving on, I asked only one thing of him and that was to return the letter I sent him transferring his funds for his building permit to me so that it would not cost me another $648 to get another one, he agreed, but did not follow through so I had to go ahead and pay that fee out of my pocket. One thing i would give him an A+ on is picking up a check, he was always Johnny on the spot to do that!! I guess there is a reason there hasn't been a positive review since 2019. He is probably going to blame the delay on lack of workers, or increase in lumber prices (from what I am hearing, the lumber prices are back down), or Covid, but that still doesn't make up for the shoddy work, broken promises, and flat out lies!

I would hire again! They were professional, polite, and their work exemplary. Gonzo is an amazing carpenter and the entire team was great to work with. They installed two sets of sliding glass doors, two fire doors eith locks and a storm door and they are all perfect!

Mr Woodard is really a perfectionist and has delivered the most beautiful mother-in-law apartment for me. The apartment is attached to my sons home and I could not be more pleased. The crews that worked with himall knew their job and did them well. Also respectful and prompt on the job every day. I will highly recommend Mac to anyone who wants a job well done. As a matter of fact I have offered my apartment to Mac to photograph for referrals.

I'll never use this contractor again

Mac started on time and finished on time. His work was first rate. He took great care doing the concrete pad and the finish on the slab is excellent.

Had a concrete extension added to the driveway. It was a large area and I had to tell them to put a cheater in. Other than that all went well.

We had a roof replaced, siding with water damage replaced, and wallboard and installation damaged from leakage replaced. Earl "Mac" had three crews working on our "issues". All three crews were friendly, professional, and did a very good job. A window was cracked in the process of getting the roof installed. The window was replaced as a matter of course. We will use "Mac" (Cutting Edge Craftsmen, Ilc ) for our other projects in the future.

Came out Sunday afternoon between Dorian and the next storm to give estimate and patch storm damage. Storm delayed delivery of some materials; otherwise, as promised and quoted. Would hire again! Mac and Juan were a pleasure to work with.

We had Mac Woodard do a roof for us. Great quality work was provided as well as great customer service!

Mac Woodard is true craftsman. He got back to us we with a free set of plans that he did on the computer and a very fair price. He was able to design the garage with the attic space we needed. He matched our existing siding and roofing perfectly. Mac was on the job daily, He operated the escavator when digging the footings and even poured the Slab. He has a large crew of about 6 guys that really worked hard to get it done. I highly recommend Mac and his company Cutting Edge Craftsmen.

Beware! Never on the job other than to pick up a check. He subbed all work out. Did not put one nail in the house.

It was fantastic. The work was done professionally, within the quoted budget ( No hidden oops I forgot to add) and under the quoted time. They went above and beyond in accomplishing the tasks contracted. The roof and skylights look wonderful and the inside ceilings are amazing. It s the little things like touching up the trim paint after redoing the ceilings, touching up our drywall repairs (we are repairing some water damage), and cleaning the job site like they were never there. Best contractor experience I have had in years. This includes building my own home, installing an In ground pool, installing retaining walls and putting in several new HVAC systems just to name a few. This is the first experience where a recommended and vetted contractor hasn t left me with a pile of issues. We will be hiring them again soon.

I did not meet MAC Woodard in person. This whole roofing experience was initiated and completed by phone. I must say he made me feel completely comfortable about the job. The job was finished and Mac sent me pictures of the completed job. I will highly recommend Cutting Edge Craftsmen to all my friends in the Outer Banks. Thanks to your company for your input online with the various vendors working in OBX

My projects took longer to complete, but it was worth the wait
