Ben seemed very knowledgeable and provided me with an estimate right away. The agreed upon price was $2,9000. I paid $1,000 as a down payment for materials a day or two later. His communication was a bit inconsistent, and more than once, he did not show up on the agreed-upon date with no notice. The job took longer than expected, and the materials needed were more than estimated. He requested an additional $270 for river rock and edgers. That same day, he requested payment early because he had bills to pay. I paid him in full, and we confirmed a date for him to come back and finish. He showed up on that date (June 2nd) and completed some of the work, saying he would be back later that week. I have yet to hear from him again.
