I had ECS install Miami-Dade approved shutters in October 2024. I had used them about five years earlier and, based on that positive experience, I gave them another chance. Gary, their sales/marketing contractor, assured me that their customer service and professionalism had improved. One month after installation, I reported an intermittent problem with one shutter. Six months later, ECS replaced only the shutter curtain, leaving me six weeks without protection during rainy season. The problem still persists, the shutter will not go down on demand, and the replacement curtain has already ripped. I have called multiple times and requested to speak with the owner, but ECS has stopped returning my calls. The 1-year manufacturer warranty and 3-year workmanship are not being honored, and I have been left stuck with a malfunctioning unit. I have been patient, but I now want the entire defective shutter, including the motor, replaced. I am happy to update this review if ECS resolves issue.

Horrible experience. Lack communication between, owner, front office and the consumer. They created more damage in a simple repair than before we started. 6 No Shows!

lots of turnover. They did not show and did not contact me. I was frustrated and when I called back, I was hung up on. The manager called and assured they would be here on the next scheduled meeting. They were and the work was adequate bur one of the men was in my pool and smoking. Kind of unprofessional.

They completed the job in 2 hours and I was completely satisfied.

I would have rated 5 stars a year ago but was unhappy, getting ready for hurricane Dorian. East Coast installed Kevlar shades on my 2 porches. When it came time to use them for the first time, many of the anchor holes in the floor did not line up with the metal flange on the bottom of the shades. We had to over-size drill the holes before the shades would work. Several of the floor screws were very hard to get out. One floor anchor had the bolt broke off ion it and just left that way. I called East Coasts emergency number they gave me about 5PM Friday before the hurricane. They said they would call me back in 10 minutes. After 30 minutes I called them again, and they were closed. It is now 3 weeks later and I have never gotten a return call. To their credit all the accordion shutters on the house worked perfectly and were easy to close and open. I paid a lot of money for the Kevlar shades for my porches and I would expect them to be installed correctly. What irritates me is I got no help from them when I needed it.

They did a good job, just questioned the billing according to what was quoted to me at first. After I called about it, then it was corrected and I was satisfied.

Started project beginning of April was told 12 weeks installed finally Aug. 3. June had 5 weeks so took a few weeks longer than anticipated. Understood some of fake rock was to be removed but left a broken one and had to re- glue. Just done today so don't know if it will hold. Had 1 front window covered and enclosed patio. As of now satisfied for the cost but not the timely manner and possible damage that may have been done. But product seems to be excellent. Will see next storm what happens. Previously had impact energy efficient windows installed so did not need them shuttered. All in all a good company and product but length of time from ordered and installation, extreme. If you're not in a hurry wonderful company and product. Sales lady Brenda Bragg was the best and followed up with me the whole time! Kudos to her!

East Coast Shutters, Inc. scheduled an appointment for June 14th @ 10 AM. On June 14th @10am, they were at the door. Fixed our shutter and left no mess. You can definitely depend on them!!! I would recommend them with no hesitation.

Contacted company to repair a shutter, exterior motorized shutter. Came out for the estimate, charge me $155.00. On that visit they looked and said that the shutter need new motor. They would order a new motor, would take several weeks. Came back 3 days later to provide the estimate on how much would cost to replace the motor. It was $415. to replace the motor. The motor didn't work, told me that we need a separate switch and electrician . They never followed up. I hired someone else, they looked at the shutters, they discover that the motor was not the same as the original motor. The motor was tested and was found defective, and the installation of that motor was questionable. I order the new motor so we can finish the job. In addition when I called the company about this issue, I was treated with disrespect and threatened to charge me more money to get the shutter to work properly. The $570.00 has ban paid in full and also I paid the new service provider.

I had Shutter Outlet install my storm shutters 7 years ago and had a problem with the large motorized shutter covering my Florida room. 9 months after the shutter fell off it's moorings and had to be repaired. This year it happened again and I couldn't get them out for weeks. Called East Coast (thru Home Advisor) and they came out and said it was installed improperly and used inferior material to mount it. East Coast took an hour to replace bad part and had shutter working properly. VERY reasonable on cost and repair men were excellent. Would highly recommend!

Great company to call, they show up and do excellent work, did work for a friend of mine and I would recommend this company and employees to everyone.

Received excellent service. Have made an appointment with them to clean and lubricate my shutters before next year's hurricane season.

I know the owner and dealt with the owner, Rupert Jones. He is a true leader in the shutter business in my opinion, for over 20 years. He went out of his way during the 2004 hurricanes to make sure I not only had the material I needed but the installation was complete before the hurricane hit. Outstanding customer service.
