Unlike other quotes, they provided a very detailed quote and were on schedule. Everyone that has viewed the floor commented how great it looked and made the house look new. We expect to use them for crown molding in the near future.

The job entailed a large space to install traditional wood flooring and also a large space of refinishing existing wood flooring. Furniture had to be moved/replaced. We stayed in the home during the project. The match of new to old flooring using random width boards had to be perfect. All trim work had to be perfect. Lots of furniture moved.

They did an excellent job on both my properties. Punctual during the appointment for the estimates; awesome array of carpets; outstanding workmanship and lastly, attention to detail. Highly recommend for any of your flooring needs as well as other construction/ remodeling job you may have.

We had some communication issues; however, the customer service after the completion made up for the issues. They came out before to show us samples on the floor and came up with a economical solution for our repair. They took care of our concerns and were sure to make sure we were satisfied.

if there were a 6 star rating -- or a 7, 8 or anything higher -- i'd unhesitatingly give it. the service was professional, the responsiveness to requests wonderful, the movement of furniture smooth, the willingness to keep move after the job was done until we were satisfied with a new layout terrific -- and, to top it all off, the price was as good as we could find after an extensive search. the same was true of e.c.s.'s work putting down maple flooring in our library. good work for a very fair price is hard to find; we found it w/e.c.s. and we'd have no reservation whatever in recommending them for any job they are in business to perform.

I contacted Whitney after having a terrible time with Empire Today. I was in need of new carpet and vinyl flooring in my basement. I really liked a Shaw product that Empire carried and Whitney was able to source that carpet for me. He was extremely responsive and came the day I called him to measure and show color samples to my wife. His pricing was very fair and installation was done within a week of placing the order. Whitney's installers showed up on time, were extremely friendly and professional. This was more than a simple install as my basement has a fairly long staircase with a railing at the bottom that required carpeting around multiple spindles. All of my old carpet and vinyl tile was taken away. Carpet install and flooring install took place over separate days, but Whitney showed up both days to check on the work. There were closet doors that were too tight to be carpeted under which was a failure on my part to explain beforehand that I was willing to cut the doors down to fit. After the initial install, I called Whitney that day and explained that I wanted the carpet to go under the doors and I would cut them down to fit. He had his installers come back within two days to extend the carpet into the closet for me. I have never experienced such excellent follow up from any other home contractor. I would not hesitate to recommend Whitney and Surface Flooring and if I could rate them 10 stars, I would.

I needed hardwood floor refinishing on 50 year old parquet floors in one of the Charles m. Goodman Townhomes in the first Cluster established in Reston/Lake Ann (1965). Whitney and his crew did an amazing job. Floors look like new. And the crew was great, always arrived when they said they would.

Extremely personal and easy to work with

I was in the need for new hardwood floors, refinishing old wood floors, stairs, rails, and new carpet in my bedroom. I am currently expecting a baby girl and needed it done quickly. When I made contact with Whitney and Ben, they were able to work with me and my timeline that I needed in order to get the job done. I had 5 quotes and they were the lowest of the group. I quickly selected Surface Flooring to install and refinish my floors. Upon the install, I was having trouble with my furnace, even though Whitney had no obligation, he took his own personal time to check out my furnace. This showed to me that not only was I hiring someone to do a job, but a company that cares about the customer. The install in the family room, back stairs, and upstairs foyer; and the refinish of the dining room, foyer, living room, main stairs, rails and balusters took approximately one week to finish. I am more than satisfied with the look and service I received. I also had new carpets added to my Master Bedroom, closets, and sitting room. They finished in about 5 hours. The color, feel, and comfort is everything I wanted and beyond. Upon completion, I reached out to Ben about knowing someone to hang my chandelier in my foyer. The next day he had his electrician over to complete the task including custom work on the mounting process. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service, quality, and customer care that I received from Surface Flooring, LLC / Eastern Construction Services, Inc.

The entire process from beginning to end could not have been easier. From Whitney assisting me with product selection and pricing, Linda's ongoing communication throughout the entire process from beginning to end, accommodating my schedule for the install to the actual installation process which was completed ahead of schedule. I could not be more happy with the end result and the professionalism of the entire team at Surface Flooring.
