I hired Eastside construction To Tape and texture 2 Hallways and a master bedroom, closet and bath. The taper Tom was personable but was the Sloppiest Taper I have ever been around. I have been in the trades since 1972. i requested that Tom scrape out the corners before shooting the texture at least three times, this was done half heartedly. I mentioned to Tom he was the sloppiest taper I had ever seen and asked who was going to clean up his mess. He replied Dean usually sends a crew around, but that was between me and Dean. There was no cleanup crew supplied by Dean. there are several areas that were not sanded properly and texture was shot anyway. I only saw these areas while I was painting. I would never hire this company again. The mess Tom Made and tracked through our house was inexcusable. My wife and I covered our floors, taped off the outlets, installed zipper doors to help keep the dust down. Tom belongs on a Commercial jobsite not an occupied home. I won't make this mistake again. Kept in touch with me about the delivery and dumped the compost exactly where I asked him to. Courteous and comfortable to deal with.

Poor communication, and when there are problems the contractor ignores them. No response from the contractor to have the work fixed or to look at the issue.

This review is to describe unsatisfactory work. We hired Eastside initially in June 2014 based on a 5 Star rating from Home Advisor and a low bid to do several small projects. The initial intent was to prepare the house for sale, but we later decided not to list the house and to do more upgrades than we had initially planned. Eastside continued to accept new projects with Change Orders to the initial contract. The work on most of these projects was satisfactory although quite prolonged because Eastside had only one skilled worker who was working several jobs at the same time, several unskilled workers that turned over quickly, and Dean was often out of town or unavailable to discuss ongoing work. The final project was to expand and upgrade the master bathroom shower to a granite tiled, barrier-free, glass walled shower with a bench and window. Two weeks after completion of the project in November 2014 (and after less than 2 hours of total use), the grouting and tiles began detaching and falling off. It was apparent that there was a large amount of water leakage under the tiles on the walls and floor. It was also apparent that no moisture barrier had been installed anywhere in the shower. Before proceeding, we had the job inspected by 4 independent contractors, all of whom described the work as "shoddy", not compliant with code and indicated that the only course of action was to demolish the entire shower, dry the wood beneath it and start all over again. Attempts to resolve this with Eastside began in December 2014 and have never come to a conclusion because Eastside offered only minor repairs or to compensate us for a few new tiles. Because of the obvious lack of expertise exhibited by Eastside. and their unwillingness to take responsibility for doing a very poor job, we hired another contractor to re-do the job at a cost to us of about $7000. Multiple efforts over 6 months now to obtain some kind of cost recovery for the failed shower from Eastside have generated nothing. Litigation to recover what we paid them to build the shower is now pending. Our perception is that Eastside specializes in low level, quick projects like cosmetic repairs to sell a house or apartment construction. The one skilled worker they had seemed uncomfortable with higher end installations and clearly did not know how to build a shower like the one we asked for. So they "winged it" and cut corners creating a product that just totally fell apart almost immeadiately after being used. Rather than accepting that bad outcome and offering to re-do it at their expense, they tried to minimize the problem and offered only minimal, low cost repairs that simply did not address the extent of the problem they created. We have delayed writing this review for 6 months and given them several deadlines to come up with an acceptable plan to address the problem, but we have not heard from them for several weeks now, and our patience is exhausted. We would never hire Eastside
