Great job- fast service- no problems

Ed responded to our request for a structural engineer consult very quickly, and was able to come out and give us a consult within 2 hours (and on a Saturday). His assessment of the detached garage walls of a home we are about to buy provided both us and the sellers much more peace of mind in moving forward with the deal; he provided options that would likely be more permanent (which is what we wanted) and cost less to repair, and represented the objective opinion we needed. All the contractors we had talked to were just confusing and upsetting us with differing recommendations and cost estimates. We highly recommend Ed Brenkus...

Ed was honest and provided great information for my problem. He did not try and convince me I needed work done or try to sell me on his specialty as I have experienced with other potential contractors, etc.

Ed was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and was able to start the week after he gave me the quote which was helpful. He fixed the main support beam running down the middle of my basement ceiling which was twisted and not properly supported. He also individually jacked up the joists which rest on this support and screwed them into place with metal brackets. This was all to get the first floor level in preparation for new flooring which will be installed in the future. He also installed a beam to support part of the second floor which was previously supported by a wall. He was able to complete the work with a helper in 4 days and gave me a fair price. I am happy with the work and enjoyed working with Ed. He shared many helpful tips and ideas with me (I'm doing a full renovation on a 90 year old house).

Called me within 1 hour of submitting request and told me his rates up front and what time he would show-up to do job. The next day he was at my daughters house to do the install a couple min. Before appointment time. He did like to talk a lot and I got the feeling it was the first time for him installing a microwave, which both slowed him down. I felt 2 hours for the microwave install was to much but I was happy with his work.

Ed was prompt in getting back to me and arrived on time for the scheduled appointment. However, he was unable to fix my electrical problem. He did not charge me for his services because he was unable to repair the problem, but he reluctantly took payment for at least his travel and gas costs. I consider him a reputable supplier

Ed was able to come out and do the job the same day he contacted meand within two days I received his report to pass along to my mortgage broker. His professional analysis and prompt attention helped me to go forward with the purchase of my first home and his report reassured me regarding the structuaral soundness of the home. I would highly recommend Mr. Brenkus to anyone with similar needs. In fact I plan on cantacting him again for additional projects. He was professional, prompt, courteous, and candid.

Ed claimed to be very economical but he did not come with some of the needed supplies and charged me for trips he needed tomake to the grocery store and hardware store for things he should have had with him (given that he knew what the problems that Iw anted repaired). He used boiling water and baking soda to "clear" the drains in the bathtub and bathroom sink. I think they must be old wives tale methods because the drains never were reallyl cleared and the next day were as bad a s ever. I used another company after that and had more success. The faucets do not drip andymore. He DID repair those. I do feel I was over charged.

Mr. Brenkus (A Helping Hand) Mr. Brenkus is probably the most honest individual I�ve met in the plumbing industry. Instead of telling me how much it would cost to repair/replace new plumbing fixtures; he actually gave me advice on how to fix it myself, saving me $375 � 525.00 on �labor�; which is what my other two estimates were for to correct the problem. Total of labor and hardware to correct the issue myself 210.00 (hardware $185.00) If you want honesty and you�re interested in saving a few dollars, Mr. Brenkus is definitely worth using.

Nice person, but I wouldn't use him again. I spent over $400.00 dollars and he was only able to complete about 50% of the job. I hired another Pro to complete the job. It was partly my fault. When he showed up without a helper to do a job that everyone knows takes two people, I should have refused his work. I also suffered water damage to my basement ceiling and powder room floor, related to his installing of a nylon sock on the washer drain, which clogged the drain and the water backed-up. I'm currently working with my builders to get this repaired. "You live and you learn!!!"

Very pleasant experience. We had some scheduling difficulties, but it was during the Christmas holidays which is always a hectic time. However, once a date was agreed upon, everything went very smoothly. I am very happy with the quality of work performed and would hire Ed again!

Great Job, Great Service

I would not hire this man to over see the building of a dog house. This has been a very stressful summer for me. The contract was signed on 7/13/04, The work was to begin on 7/13/04, It started on 7/15/04 it ended 10/20/04. Work I was told would take 1 week. After Mr Brenkus got my second check as per the contract on 8/13/04 the rest of the work came to a halt. I then got excuses after excuses. I never will hire him again for any thing. He did do one thing right, He brought one cement contractor that was very good, timely and professional [Edward D.] After 4 months of a simple job I thank god this man is out of my life.

I have Busch Electric who also replied from ServiceMagic doing the electrical work this week. I would recommend Ed Brenkus to anyone, he is great.
