ECS monitors my alarm system. i called them to replace the battery. as i was getting a â low battery powerâ signal. i was in shock to see their invoice: $35 for the battery ($19.99 @ home depot) + $135 labor charge for literally 3 min of work (including the time to get in and out of the house), although i do accept a reasonable visit charge, but $135??? now that iâ ve watched how itâ s done - never again iâ ll call them. i am also shopping around my alarm monitoring service provider now. as i suspect their monthly monitoring charge is way off market as well. the lesson here is quiet sad - once they have you as customer for many years - they stop caring and feel they can take advantage of your loyalty â ¦

"We appreciate your feedback. We charge $125 per hour for our services, not $135 and most of our customers are happy to pay for the service we provide. We are in a service industry and cannot provide work for free in this economy. With 1.5 hours of drivetime, fuel, licensing, and insurance among other things, we cannot be doing work for free. Our alarm monitoring rates are very competitive, especially compared to companies like ADT or Vivint that charge almost double or raise their rates on existing customers yearly and I can guarantee these companies are going to charge similar or higher labor charges"

I needed 3 LAN jacks installed in my home at different locations. They are very professional and knowledgeable at their work. It was a bit pricey for me but I do not regret paying due to the quality of work. Hey you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend them.

Repaired / replaced magnetic contacts ripped out during window replacement. Not a easy job. However, Marcus and Austin did a great job. Itâ s easy to see they care about their work. Looking forward to upgrading with additional security coverage.

Technician came out and resolved a problem with a smoke detector in 5 minutes. However, I was still charged a trip charge of $65 (to just come out) and then for a full hour of work at $120 per hour. Thought it would have been fair for a charge of 30 min at max at $60. Tech also never bothered to accommodate a simple request to provide an updated copy of the invoice. Total Rip-off!

"I am sorry you are unhappy, but we typically have a 2-hour minimum with a trip charge. Since the job took only about 30 minutes (not 5 minutes) the 2-hour minimum was waived and you were only charged for 1 hour. We cannot drive around Houston and fix problems for $60 when we are paying for advertising, insurance, licensing vehicles, and labor. The invoice was emailed to you. If you did not receive the e-mail you can contact us and ask to resend it."
