This company caused a lot of stress. They ran out of tile the night before Thanksgiving and told me I had to wait a week for them to finish. I had to make a lot of calls to even get an explanation 2 days later and no apology. The guy on the phone blamed the sales guy for poor measurements. This was a rental, so I had to pay someone to reconnect the appliances and use the kitchen 1/2 completed. Also, the installer put tile under the stove so now its not flush with the counter.

I was working with a limited budget. I went with Empire based on their reputation or at least what I could find on the Internet. I will never make that mistake again. Their sales person was pushy and made promises and assurances that in no way could this company deliver. What was to be a one day installation is up to 3 and counting. The quality of the material is much like that available at any big box store, nothing special about it. The installers I would say are just above hobbyists. The installation manager who is responsible for making sure they have all their materials is missing in action. The company customer service does nothing more than make notes and attempt to contact the installation manager but he only returns their calls and assures them he has been in contact with me, the customer, which is an absolute lie. I had family come down for a special once in a lifetime event for me and some could not attend because they had to remain here for day 2 of the one day installation. The installation manager, Aaron, has yet to call to discuss these problems and his installers have not arrived to finish yet. Day one, the installers did not have sufficient underlayment. Day two, not enough threshold transitions. Day three, the installers are missing in action. Do yourself a favor, Purchase your own material and hire a reputable local installer. Do not do business with this company. I think HomeAdvisor should do better research on the people that they automatically have call customers.

They were on time and did an excellent job.

Original quote was grossly overestimated. But called the corporate office and they shaved off a 3rd of the quote. Actual work was excellent.
