Maximum Shutters

Beware of Maximum Shutters. I do not typically like to write negative reviews however I feel my negative experience with Maximum Shutters is warranted. It started with the initial estimate. I asked for changes from having the whole house in accordions to half and half. When I called about the estimate they returned with incorrect quotes three different times. Once I approved to go ahead with the project in April, maximum shutters told me it typically takes 2 months for the permit to be approved. Fast forward to June, and after hearing nothing from the company (no calls or emails) I decided to reach out to their office manager Caroline. After several attempts with no response via phone or email, I got in contact with someone in the production department that had no evidence that our project was even accepted. After finally receiving a phone call back from Caroline she said the project was waiting on permit approvals. At this point, I did not believe anything they told me so I reached out to the town to see where my permit stood. The town stated they did not receive anything so I called Caroline once again to see what was going on. She ensured me that my project was in the permit phase (total lie) Ironically 2 days after our conversation. I called the town again and they just received my permit application 60 days into the promised delivery date. July and August passed and I still heard nothing from Maximum Shutters. September comes 5 months after the initial project goes ahead and Maximum Shutters we are quiet as a mouse. No phone calls, emails, or any updates. At this point, I started looking for other companies because the lack of communication was absurd. I flat out called out Maximum Shutters on their lies and was given excuse after excuse. After taking things into my own hands I found out that our permit was approved in late August yet Maximum Shutters said nothing. It was now late September (6 months later) and finally, I received notification that our shutters were being made. Another month came and went and I received a text stating they were coming out for the installation. They set and canceled three different dates and never once asked me what worked for me. Again no communication, no customer service, nothing. Finally, installation day came in early November. The workers left a mess and more importantly did not complete the job. We found that out when I did a test run putting up the panels and several bolts and screws were missing. I even caught the installers saying on my security cameras that they did not have enough materials and hoped the boss does not find out because they do not care. On top of that, the elusive permit we waited 5 months for was never posted for the town. We found that out by the town threatening us with violations due to no permit!!! I contacted Maximum Shutters. and got no response once again. Now that the project was completed in November, I heard nothing regarding payment or final inspection for another 2 Months!!! It is now January. My final inspection was just completed. What a joke. I do not know how Home Depot stands by this company. The lack of communication and professionalism is nonexistent. I never spoke on the phone with them unless I called. I am extremely unhappy with how they treated me and would never recommend them. I have given them several opportunities to make it right and give me some kind of discount or money off. At this point, I am waiting on them as I have been for 8 months!! My next step is to report them to the better business bureau, Angis list, Facebook, and every other agency possible to get the word out that this company should not be in business.

I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to put in storm shutters. I set up 5 companies to come out and give me an estimate. Ensling was the first one and right off the bat I trusted and felt confident that this would be a good experience just based on the owner himself. Well I should have followed my first instinct as they were not only the least expensive but great to work with. I got a quality storm shutter and I now tell everyone about this company.
