About us
There are various types of samples that can be taken to determine if an area is or has been affected by mold. Based on prior water intrusion history as well as our limited visual inspection we may suggest one or more methods of testing. The process begins with our limited visual inspection when our certified assessors take a close look at the water sources for any areas that may be affected. If there is visual evidence or staining a surface sample may be recommended. The surface sample may be collected on either a wetted Swab or a Tape Lift. The reason a surface sample is needed is to determine whether there is the physical presence or growth of a potentially harmful type of mold (Indicator Species).
