Epic Mechanical Service Co.

Issue was still unresolved 3+ months after first filing a claim. My home warranty contracted out the job to Epic Mechanical. Extremely poor communication, parts were ordered 3 times. 1st time they didnâ t realize it was the wrong parts until they had already came out for the appointment to fix the HVAC. 2nd time they failed to have someone pick up the parts & so they got shipped back. Epic called me the morning of the appointment for them to come out & fix it, & just told me that the â parts just never came inâ . Lie. After speaking with my warranty company, they were able to tell me the tracking history of the shipment from the supplier. The parts had indeed come in, but due to no one from Epic picking them up, the parts got returned back to sender. 3rd round of parts came in after finally getting them expedited thanks to warranty company, & we still had to wait well over a week for an appointment even after speaking to Epicâ s manager, Steph. Tech came out, I assume installed something, & told me that apparently one of the parts (the txv, I believe) was still the wrong part. The tech (Logan) said it should be working after a while though even without that part as be thought it was just â cosmetic damageâ . No, still had the same issue even after running the HVAC for hours. After that, our warranty swapped us to a different contractor. Every time we tried to schedule an appointment with Epic after the first initial diagnostic one, it would take 10-17 days before they could come out. Our HVAC is now still out 4 months after filing a claim. If they couldnâ t fix it in a reasonable timeframe, they shouldâ ve just said so & replaced the HVAC. They should own up to their mistakes instead of lying to their customers. They cancelled appointments several times the morning of them. Epic Mechanical is not so epic after all. Please, please, save yourself the stress & time wasted by using a different company.

Today is 8/13/24 and my work order was put in on 6/2/24. As of today nothing has been done to my air unit. The part has been sitting at the warehouse and nobody will pick it up. When they were scheduled to come the first time it was put off over a month because â all of their trucks are broken down.â The second guy that came buy priced me a new unit for $14k. I have sense been quoted $7500. Please do not use this company. Especially if you are a single mother because all they will do is try to take advantage.

When appt was made the person on the phone identified who my tech would be so I would know. They were able to get me in the next day (I called in the afternoon so I didn't expect same day service). I was given a 3 hr window (10-1). (No all day waiting.) She informed me they would text or call to let me know they were on their way about 30 min prior. He showed up right about 10 am (within 30 min of the text). His name was prominently displayed on his jacket. When I opened the door he identified himself and the company he worked with. There was no question as to if this man was my tech or not. Very polite, clean, and knowledgeable. He ran diagnostics on my HVAC, showed me the results, explained how the system worked and answered all questions I had. Then he went to the breaker (HVAC was fine) to find a breaker was bad. He took the old ones out for the HVAC unit, ran to the local hardware store (we all know they can't keep every kind of everything on hand in their truck) got what was needed, returned promptly and had it fixed in no time. I tried to keep my 6 yo away so he could work but she was curious...as long as she stayed a safe distance he was fine with her seeing. He showed me the breaker (that was scary because it looked like everything was about to catch on fire and melt). He assured me that it shouldn't catch on fire that the breaker just would stop working before it got to that point. He also encouraged me to NOT go out and buy a whole new box of breakers to replace each and every one lol. Right before he took payment his phone rang. Someone on another job was having a problem and needed a second brain to pick. Personally I loved this! I would much rather them put in a call to get some help and not botch a job than be afraid to call a co-worker for a second opinion. I think your network of co-workers is your most valuable asset so I appreciate the company allowing this. I know I would want my tech to have this ability if he needed help on my HVAC. I felt very confident in his skills and work when he left my house. I will happily call them again if I ever have any problems. *They do work with American Home Shield.*

Need to work on communications, but otherwise satisfied and everyone's happy.

The whole experience was great, the best and most polite technicians, best equipment. Ever time I called the salesman he answered his phone, even after hours. Hardest working, professional guys around!!!!

The salesman, John, was very professional, personable and quick to respond to communications. The price and quality were excellent. After running into a couple of snafus, the installers and management were very responsive and worked very hard on making everything right. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again!
