Project was charged as quoted. Justin was prompt and knowledgeable. He filled a big Crack in my driveway. He told me if I had any issues to call him. Due to the hot weather, a portion of the Crack that was filled had some holes that occurred. So I called Justin the next day. He happened to be in my neighborhood. The job entailed paving, driveway sealing in parking space line repainting. It was well coordinated so that it was completed in the best way and fastest time.

Justin certainly gets an "A" for effort. Before hiring this contractor, (a) watch a bunch of YouTube seal coating videos to find a few that most closely match your driveway condition and the seal coating processes and solutions different companies use, and (b) be certain the service and contractor you select use the processes, techniques, products and methods you have seen proven on YouTube. We would not opt for Essex Seal Coating's spray-on asphalt process again because it did not resolve either of our primary needs,. We would look for a contractor that squeegees the liquid asphalt to leave a level coat and either a hot-melt application or trowel-on process for 1/8-1/4" gap or an interface seam in the pavement to smoothly close it up. Our well-cared-for twelve-year old driveway has a seam four feet from the end where the town cut off the end our existing driveway before repaving the road and replacing the four feet of our driveway they had removed. Our driveway had also been seal coated by another company about six years ago. Prior to Essex Seal Coating beginning work I personally manually edged the entire driveway leaving a clean gap, trimmed back any potentially interfering shrubs and power washed the entire driveway. Justin claimed that the unsightly "cracking" visible in the surface of our driveway was from the prior latex-based seal coat the other company used. He also said that an "extra heavy coat" of his spray-on asphalt would significantly reduce their visibility. He was anxious to win our business. Despite returning to address the interface seam issue when he also sprayed on a second coat to the entire driveway, the cracking is still quite visible and our concern is not resolved. Justin said he would fill the seam at the interface between the town's paving at the four foot point in our driveway and it would almost disappear. Justin returned three times to close the seam with different fillers and additional sprays and while the interface seam is filled and most likely won't leak, there is a very visible "scar" from the asphalt granules used on Justin's third visit. Justin and his assistant work *extremely* quickly with their spraying equipment and do not use squeegees to spread the liquid asphalt nor do they use trowels and thicker fill material to address larger gaps or interface seams. Jobs that take contractors 1-2 hours to do on YouTube are done by Essex Seal Coating in well under and hour. Our driveway is sealed and most likely will survive the weather for a few years. Our ratings of the work quality and value for money are based on the above.

Essex did a great sealcoat job

Justin filled some cracks and sealed my 50x30 driveway. He was polite and thorough and communicated well. 4.5 rating on the quality just for some slight overspray into the yard on one corner, but excellent otherwise. My driveway looks great

Price was good. Quality ok . The one thing that I did not like is after they cleaned the driveway they left a mess at the end of the driveway when the traffic goes by everything is back in the driveway. I was told I could drive on it when it dries. There are tire tracks all over the driveway.
