If I could give them zero stars, I would. We hired Evans & Co in April of 2022 to do a small addition to our master bedroom and two bathroom remodels. This 4-month project stretched into 10 before we got fed up & fired him, primarily because the project was managed poorly, the contractor didnâ t listen to us and we werenâ t consulted for decisions. Multiple items on the project had to be redone including digging up & re-pouring the basement under the addition because when we suggested we install a sump, he told us we didnâ t need one. It flooded with the first rain. The hardwoods were redone twice to match first the species, then the color. When it was still starkly different than the existing floor, Evans said he would tear up the entire floor and replace it. At that point, we hired in our own flooring contractor to fix his mess which they did with ease. His cleaning crew scratched the newly finished floor and we paid to have it done again. When we hired a new contractor to evaluate what was necessary to live in the space, several code & safety concerns & violations were uncovered. Egress window was undersized, floor joists under shower were cut down to the point they would not support the weight of the tile long term, and a basement header was resting on 2x4s instead of concrete. They ended up fixing the safety concerns and gutting what Evans had done in the master bath and redoing it in its entirety. Tens of thousands of dollars later, weâ re finally close to moving into our master once again. This time, with peace of mind that things were done correctly. Do yourself a favor and run from this company.
