Evans Painting

What an unbelievably horrible and unprofessional experience. Long story short, we agreed to a price and I paid half the money to get the project started. For weeks, they could not communicate effectively when they would be at my home working on the project; they continued to suggest a time and then could not show up for hours later. At one point, the owner made plans to show up at 9 AM, but when it was raining the next morning, he decided that the rain would prove too problematic for them to work, and so he texted me to ask if the exterior door had a roof over it (this is after he had spent several days working on the door and should have known the answer). I replied yes it is covered at around 9:30. Instead of saying he would be late, he just did not show up until 11:30. After weeks of them putting in sporadic effort and time into the project (they were constantly leaving the job site to get food and other materials), they finally seemed to be nearing completion. They were not able to finish the job on the Friday they promised, but over the weekend (while we were out of town), the owner (Stephen Upshaw) started repeatedly texting me asking me to pay him the other half of the money so that he could pay his workers. The job was not done, but because of this very awkward pressure, I just went ahead and paid him. When they came back out the following week, they began cleaning off the windows to my exterior door, and one of the workers noticed that they had scratched multiple glass panels on my door. At this point, Stephen started ghosting me. He alleges that his phone was off for days for whatever reason (I suspect he blocked my number). After finally making contact with him again, he first suggested that I find my own glass guy and that he would work on finding one too. After I told him that this just was not my responsibility, he eventually came back to say that he was going to get new glass panels to replace the ones on my door, but it would take two weeks to get them (these are not complicated windows...simple squares of the exact same size). So I waited patiently for two weeks, and now I can not get ahold of him anymore. At this point, I am considering pursuing legal action against them because frankly it is just the principle of being ghosted on a job that you prematurely demanded payment for. Did they already know that the scratches on the window were there? Perhaps this is why he was asking for the rest of the money. I would not trust them. Not only was it a huge pain to get them to come out and work on the door, they never showed up with the materials they would need (e.g., even just covering the floor to keep paint off). In the end, I simply traded an OK paint job for permanent damage to my (original) exterior French doors.

This company did a great job. They were neat and paid attention to detail. At the end they took care of any concerns I had and they made sure everything was back in place. A job well done.

Competitive price and quality work. Hired them for exterior painting as well as exterior wood repairs. Very happy with the quality of the work.

Stephan was in constant contact regarding time frame for work completed. Hired for two jobs and we are extremely happy with both.

Very fast service owner showed up gave me an estimate crew came, pressure washed my house, painted my brick and and trimmed the house. The job took 5 days. After the job was completed we did a walk through and punch out, we were very satisfied.

Hiring Evans Painting was a mistake. The boss showed up for the quote and then did not show up again until the very last day. He has 1 employee quit after the 2nd day and he had to fire another employee mid project. His employees did not listen to what was supposed to be done and had zero respect for personal property. They did not bother to cover the floors on day 1 which I was told was going to be done. I had to keep asking them to properly cover them. They did not bring anything to cover furniture that was moved to the center of the rooms, which I was told was going to be done. They had to use multiple items of mine including sheets, fans, lights because they brought nothing with them. It was supposed to be a 3 to 4 day project that ended up taking 10 days. On final walk through they were finishing up parts of the ceiling so it was wet. I made the mistake of assuming it would dry correctly. It did not, it was not even the right paint. After multiple unanswered texts and no shows to fix the ceiling and the other issues that I found after the final walk through I gave up and fixed it myself. Do not hire ever Evans painting, I have no idea how they had above a 1 star rating on Angi.

First off, I thought it was too good to be true, but they got me a roof through my insurance company then they painted my exterior for a fair price they are a small tight-knit crew, would recommend them to anyone.

I reached out to Glenn the owner and Stephen the other owner came out the same day gave me a quote we chose to go with evans painting there other company does roofing as well so we killed two birds with one stone and got our exterior stucco house painted and a new roof we are completely satisfied they are a small crew and very friendly we will use them again for any other painting project we get

Great job Very friendly and accomadating to my schedule

The boss of the outfit was good but they had trouble with one of the painters and the quality of work was poor. We had to have the painters do things over and over to be acceptable. I would only recommend them if you watch their work carefully. To much babysitting for us.

Great team. Diligent and customer friendly. They went to great lengths to make the project successful.

They were quick to respond, great follow-up, and they made sure to look at all the details with us in the final walkthrough.
