We DO NOT recommend Joseph Evans or Evanson Constructions company. He was recommended by Home Advisor in early 2021, which turned out to be a BAD recommendation! HOME ADVISOR - PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND Joseph Evans!!! He is a FRAUD!!! Please GOOGLE: Joseph Evans to see more reviews on him, his business and his scamming games. We signed 1st contract to build 2-car-garage from ground with a storage and a studio apartment on the 2nd floor along with building a backyard patio and remodel the front porch. 6 to 8 months project becoming a 2+ yrs unfinished project with only 50% done while we paid 80% of total project cost. We have No garage door, the storage room has no door and cannot be used as it flooded every time we have hard rains. The apartment cannot be used as it has no plumbing, no flooring, no doors, no bathroom, no kitchen sink or cabinets and we paid out of pocket to have the HVAC installed. No backyard patio & front porch 30% done. He damaged the roof of the house as now we have leaks in few places as he only cover the roof near the front porch and patio with plastic cover. Joseph Evans is a very deceitful person, consistently fails to deliver on his promises causing frustrations and stresses. He has breached the contract and caused significant damages not only financial damage but also physical and emotional damages to me and my family. The Un-finished Project has been on going for more than 2 years! Joseph Evans has 2 company names: Joseph Evans Construction, LLC which no longer in business and Evanson Construction, LLC that is still actively trapping more victims. He approached you through Home Advisor using the Evanson Construction, LLC. However, the contract will be written under his bankrupt company name: â Joseph Evans Construction, LLC! Watch out people!! Please check the public records for Joseph Evans. You will be surprised with lawsuit cases opens against him from both his customers and his sub-cons, also do not miss out to check out his criminal records. Do not trust Joseph Evans as his promises are empty promises. He constantly blaming his sub-cons for every delays and mistakes. He answered your phone but gave you false status updates filing you with lies after lies. He made up false status to lead you to believe he is trying to make progress while the fact was he did nothing. He is very creative with excuses. He kept changing his sub-cons. We have some of his sub-contact numbers and just recently we knew that they either never get the order to work on my project while he has been paid for or he did not pay his sub-cons. Some of his sub-cons even threatened us to put leans on our property. Joseph Evans Construction and/or the Evanson Construction, LLC are FRAUDS!!! Joseph Evans should never be allowed to have his business running to only victimize many innocent people.

Evens, took the money from me knowing that we did not have a place to leave he took the money with excuses that the job would be done in a week and thats the way he kept going till he did not showed up at all. The job had not been compleated and I wasl left with out money

A promised two week project turned into five months. This included one of three tasks being stopped and left undone due to an inaccurate promise of what he could produce. There was not only poor communication, consistently inaccurate timelines, and repetitive excuses blaming everyone else as to why things weren't correct -- but we were disappointed to find that there was a complete lack of honesty, integrity, and trust. Our experience was absolutely horrendous, and we would HIGHLY advise anyone looking for any construction work to look elsewhere.

This was our first time hiring a pro to do this level of work and I have to say Joseph made us feel very comfortable and informed. He saw our vision and made it a reality except it was way better than we pictured. We had a second family room remodeled into a bedroom, office, and back hall. In the end somehow it seemed like we ended up with more space than we started with. He made sure to stay in constant contact, his subcontractors were nice and very skilled, and both him and them answered any questions we had through out the process.

Joseph is a very conscientious general contractor who performs high quality work. We worked with him to build a bathroom onto our residence and then greatly expanded the project to include major reconstruction throughout. Our schedule was extended for a variety of reasons, including COVID-19, but we completed everything. Throughout, Joseph communicated well and was always willing to discuss, provide updates, discuss schedule, etc. some of his subs are fantastic such as framing, drywall, trim carpentry, and paint. We struggled with the plumbing contractor and finally switched to another firm. We plan to use him again for a garage remodel. A particular strength for Joseph is his adherence to a strong set of ethics. He is all about doing things right, even if it puts him in a bad spot.

Hired Joseph to do a bathroom remodel and put down a large down-payment. He understood that this project was time-sensitive b/c our house was going up for sale. We relied on him for the remodel. Just as others have said, there was delay after delay. Excuse after excuse. This went on for months and nothing was ever done. No one even came to our house to start the project. We heard everything from the carpenter s dog is at the vet , to I can t get my sub to do it because there s a meeting at my sub contractor s kids school , or it s raining , or just maybe next week? Do not hire this man. In the end, he did NOTHING except cause us anxiety and worry. He should NOT have accepted the bid if he couldn t follow through. We had to sell our house for less money because the remodel wasn t finished. This was really hard on my husband as he is a disabled Veteran. I have never, ever had problems like this with contractors before. I would have reported him to the BBB except that he gave us our money back (but notnour time or worry). I suspect positive reviews are people he knows. Other reviews are like mine. Very disappointed.

"The remodel was a 6 foot vanity cabinet exchange, the custom cabinet unfortunately was not finished in time. Customer was refunded the full amount of the $1,400.00 deposit. We were not able to complete it in good time and we do apologize for the stress and inconvenience."

Joseph's team removed a wall between my family room and living room. They also repaired all the drywall that was effected. I'm rather particular and throughout the project, Joseph was always happy to address my concerns. Communication with Joseph was easy, as he always answered my calls or returned them promptly. I'm thankful to have had their help on the project. I will call Joseph again if I need any remodeling on my home.

At the beginning the communication was excellent. As the project went on, issues that needs to be addressed were uncovered during the remodel. Once all the issues were uncovered and scheduled to be addressed, I was told the project was set to be completed by the end of April... The project drug on until the end of June when we terminated our contract and I am now having to find another company to complete my shower.

9 weeks in and not even 25% done but have given 70% of the payment. Garage and bathroom gutted and some of the electrical done. I was told it would be 3 weeks from start to finish. I have no idea how much longer it will be but at this rate I am guessing 3 more months. Never again. UPDATE. 15 weeks in and it has taken 6 weeks to drywall the garage and paint it, 6 weeks. Still need the air installed, bathroom tiled and vanity, shower and toilet placed as well as block in a window. Zone unit needs placed as well as garage floor started and finished, attic door placed, front door replaced, trim work finished, electrical finished, ceiling fan, light fixtures and outlets finished. All of that needs to still be done as well as cut out the outlet they covered up while doing drywall. It is still maybe once a week someone comes over for a few hours and works along with a ton of excuses as to why no work is being done. This week I got a whole 30 minutes worth of work done. I am beginning to wonder if all the good reviews were done by Joseph. On another note, Joseph when you see this, finish my garage. Update - 7 months in and still not done. This project is not closed out. Have asked for a new contract with a finish date and have been told he will get one but has never done so. Ridiculous.

"This complaint has been resolved with assistance from the BBB where we maintain an A+ rating and have for 16 years. This was our statement to the BBB: I have reviewed the complaint and understand Mr. Robert C.'s frustrations with the multiple delays and the project taking much longer to complete than originally estimated and proposed. It was estimated the garage renovation project would take 3-4 weeks and instead as Mr. Robert C. stated has taken close to 11 months. The project ran into overage issues immediately upon demolition and uncovered major attic/roof framing issues, plumbing drain/supply issues and electrical wiring issues. As the contractor it is my responsibility to repair and correct these issues in order to make the home safe and to pass city inspections. Mr. Robert C. was able to pay for part of the attic framing repairs but was unable to pay for any other repairs. 1. The garage ceiling had to be completely reframed, new joists, beams installed and structural hardware installed. 2. The garage bathroom drain/sewer/supply plumbing had to be updated and replaced. 3. The service was originally contracted to be upgraded but due to unseen work done by previous homeowner, additional breaker panels, wiring and service cables were added and an entirely new electrical service was provided. All this additional work was provided at no cost to the homeowner and was paid for out of pocket by the contractor in order to complete the project, make sure the house was safe and pass all City inspections. I agree that the project and the uncovered issues could have been handled better and more efficiently. I offer my sincerest apologies to Mr. Robert C. and agreed to write off the remaining contract balance in attempt to bring closure for Mr. Robert C. and his family. I'm thankful we were able to stabilize this property for future homeowners and left it much better than we found it. JE"

Joseph is a very nice and easy to work with. He was always easy to reach and addresses problems quickly. There were some delays but we were kept up to date with them. To make up for the delays, Joseph went over and above by providing compensation. There was even a small amount of damage that was done to the new tub in the bathroom (acutally a small chip) but Joseph removed 200.00 off the installation. The work that was done turned met or exceeded our expectations.
