Bathroom Remodel
They tried to scam me for more money at every turn. Owner does not work with the team and once demo was done they were slow as possible. After they finished the bathroom leaked and then they tried to charge me more to fix there incompetence. There 2 year warranty is meaningless. I would never let my worst enemy even use them.

They did a small bathroom semi-renovation. Mostly tile work. Crew showed up on time, worked very hard entire day and offered time saving suggestions. Very easy to work with. I recommend Monarch.

Our experience with Monarch Contract Builders was top rate. We had a home repair challenge and Mr. Long and his team completed the repair above expectations. Furthermore, they treated our time, and our home, with courtesy and respect.

The contractor is unable to provide insured and certified sub contractors and he failed to refund the deposit. I would recommend not enlisting their services and be wary of non refundable deposits.

I hired Monarch to add a half bathroom and small closet in my basement and transform the space into a home office. I also had some bathroom vents and tile installed. I had a tight budget and Patrick was able to work with me to make sure what I asked for could be done within that amount. The design consultant, Renee, was extremely helpful and I don’t think the job could have been done without her! I was busy throughout the project working to pay for it, so didn’t have time to look at much in terms of bathroom interior design or paint. I told Renee my vision and she sent me several options and I was able to pick from those and was very happy with everything she found for me! She also stopped by throughout to make sure the workers were paying attention to detail. Patrick and his foreman Rodrigo were excellent and flexible with extra things I asked for throughout the project, though I did end up paying more than I hoped. Overall I love my new bathroom and office space and will definitely be going to Monarch for my next project!

Major Home Repair (General Contractor)
Poor workmanship; a door they installed would not close. They painted the ceiling with two different paints. The finish carpenter could not join to handrails. They installed a shower stall kit incorrectly. They did not provide for enough return vents for the high efficiency furnace. Supply ducts were not cut to a proper size to fit a grill. The shower stall had to be redone as they did not connect the drainage correctly and the tile was done wrong. Management of the project; a bag of clothing was thrown out. There was no proper coverage of furniture or clean up. I had to diffuse a fight between the finish carpenter and the countertop installer. Lack of quality control with no checks by the contractor work was being done properly. See examples above. In general, poor workmanship and more importantly terrible management of the project.

Problems arise during any construction. It is how the contractor deals with problems measures his competence. Patrick Long, the owner, dealt with every facet in a measured and very competent manner. I have been a contractor for 40 years, retired now, and no wish to deal with the day to day ordeals of the job. I would recommend Monarch unhesitatingly. If anyone interested in hiring this company I would be pleased to talk with you. My name is Geoff Kelly and I can be reached at 312 371 8698 (cell)

Renovations can be a nightmare. At the end of the day these guys were great. They met the deadlines and corrected things I was unhappy with that was not their error. I could always reach them and they were always on time. I absolutely recommend them.

They were eager to do the work. They show up when they said and did the work.
