Several years ago I hired Fahnestock Excavating to add topsoil to regrade a sloping area of my yard and to fill in a large hole from a tree stump. Mr. Fahnestock was courteous, his price was far lower than the competition. The grading work was fine. The problem is the **topsoil** he spread on my yard. It was orange and littered with and softball sized and larger rocks and balls of clay. I expressed my dissatisfaction, and he assured me that this was topsoil and that grass will grow well even on gravel so it will grow and cover all the rocks he had deposited. I had planned to plant grass right away but as he drove away I looked with dismay over the orange rocky mess and wished I could send it all back and start over. I contacted him again weeks later, and he dismissed my complaints. It took weeks of clearing rocks, hoeing clay balls and raking debris before I could even attempt planting grass. I have since used the area for a garden plot and every spring as I dig, I find large buried masses of clay and I regret anew that I hired Fahnestock Excavating.

Initial dig was OK but the back-fill was another story.

Easy to communicate and very responsive. They were eager to please and very accommodating when schedule was moved.

Would HIGHLY recommend Dwight to anyone having a basement water issue. His price was reasonable and work was done correctly. Dwight is very professional and conscientious. Would not hesitate to use him again (but hopefully never have to!).

Dwight was a pleasure to do business with. He was fully engaged in inspecting my water problem and he recommended a solution which was very competitively priced. Once the work was started, Dwight remained flexible (and within budget) after the footer was unearthed which identified the need for additional work. His team was courteous and friendly, answering all of my questions. They were also careful to protect the areas around the job site, and did a good job cleaning up when they were done. My only criticism is the amount of time it took to receive an amendment to the original contract.

Great people to deal with do what they say they are and when. Leave everything in great shape when done. Would definitely use there services again.

We had estimates from other companies and knew what we wanted. NONE of the other companies said they could do it. Dwight came and did EXACTLY what we wanted and at a price that was lower than the other companies. Dwight is great to work with. He is courteous, along with his worker. He did exactly what he said he was going to do for the money he estimated. He was to finish up on a Monday, but came back on the Saturday since it was to rain over the weekend and he didn't want to undo what was done. We would DEFINITELY hire him again for any other work that we would need and will DEFINITELY tell our friends to hire him or anyone who would ask about him. All in all, if we could give him 100 starts, we would.

Dwight was very responsive to my sinkhole project. He came and gave me an estimate, worked around weather issues, but completed my project in a timely manner. He and Emial dug up only what was necessary and did no damage to my yard/landscape and my yard is small. They even cleaned up after themselves and came in on the low end of the estimate. They were friendly and kept me informed every step of the way. Thank you!

This gentleman was personable and very professional. My husband and neighbors came over and commented on the good job he did while filling our sink hole in a very difficult spot. He took care to assure no landscaping or other damage occurred during the repair.

If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Estimate came in way under compeitors and did top-notch work. They went above and beyond the job for which they were contracted�professional, courteous, informative, and helpful.

They came out and promptly gave us an estimate. They were willing to do the work in a timely maanner and worked around our schedules and the rainy weather.

Dwight Fahnestock was very professional and helped us with all aspects of the work. When it comes to getting permits and such, we were clueless and he walked us through that process. Since we were having a sewer line repair, he knew that the job needed to be done in a reasonable period of time and he made sure of that. Even though there were issues due to the age of the house, the depth of the line and not exactly knowing where the line went, he flowed with the punches. When the job was done, he made sure that the ground was leveled so that reseeding would be easier. My husband and I would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Their prices were very reasonable. Completed my yard in two hours and were very pleasant to work with!

They were here around 8 AM and kept working until till they were finished The excavating got done first, then the basement wall. The retaining wall and then the seeding. They did not waste any time and we are very pleased.
