We hired Family Refinishers to refinish 3 tubs, several counters, bathroom sinks, and shower areas in our two San Antonio rentals. Owner Chris Dix promised us the world and delivered such a poor job that both our tenants complained. The coating was peeling, and it was sticking to the feet of the tenant. Chris several times did not respond to phone calls and texts, made appointments that we had arranged with the tenants that he did not honor, and did a horrible job when he finally came back to fix his work. We finally had to hire someone else to redo his work on the tubs, costing us almost $1000 more since we had already paid Chris, and the new vendor told us that it looked like Chris did not do the job correctly in the first place! Beware!

It was a seamless experience. From the time I put in my request to HomeAdvisors to the completion of the job was amazing. Received a phone call and text from Family Refinishers almost immediately. Talked with Chris, then did my research and found his business had a lot more reviews (all positives) than the other companies and I was very pleased with his workmanship. Hw also provides a 5 year warranty if the tub ever chips. Nice to have that even thpugh I don t expect it to happen.

Chris was a true professional. He explained the process, set expectations and followed through. Chris identified a couple of issues with the tub and we talked through each solution. Chris also paints cabinets and stone looks to counter tops, I will be reaching out again.

Both bathtubs were damaged by a careless contractor during demo. Chris with Family Refinishers did the best he could to restore our tubs to its former glory. He can sometimes be quick with his work and doesn't catch everything. But he stands behind his work as he came back to finish the work to meet our expectations!

The results look good before the drying process is complete. They came out to sand imperfections which resulted in new imperfections. After that, they did not return to correct. I also had to have the overspray on my tile removed. I so regret doing this. I should have just replaced the countertops. Don?t waste your money

As you stated i did return when you had a issue, but when you wanted me back and I tried to schedule with you you were unavailable and I left our conversation open ended for you to call me back when you will be available. I have not heard from you in months and this is the first time I hear back from you in over 3 months with a negative review."

Not very reliable. Made an appointment in 2 different days and failed to show or cancel appointment. Quilty of work was not that great. Told us he would come back to fix any issues. Never showed or canceled appointment. Failed to respond to calls and text.

Applies a clear coat to the countertop resurfacing. No one else does this. Turns out great. Extra protection. Also had a bathtub refinished. Nice job. I am an apartment owner. I will definitely use their services again! Shows up and does the work. No excuses. Professional job. Much much better quality than others we have used.

Chris from Family Refinishers was simply awesome. Positive attitude, very knowledgeable and professional.Ne basically refused to refinish my tub, telling me it was in near perfect condition and that it only needed to be cleaned, which he did for a negotiated price, which was up to me. You certainly don't find this level of integrity in today's business world. I would recommend this company to anyone without hesitation.
